The month of December not only brings the holiday season, but it also brings the official start of winter, and a noticeable shift in the weather. Here are 3 new diffuser blends that reflect this cozy and festive time of year.
One of the best parts of receiving your brand new REVIVE seasonal box is diffusing your new oils! You might even try using them together to create a fun and unique scent. We love that, but we also love to give you some fresh ideas of how to use your products in original ways. So, here are some great do it yourself recipes for you to try with your Christmas Box oils and blends.
Pour the alcohol and Essential Oil drops into the bottle, then swirl to mix. Add in the distilled water and twist on the top. Shake gently then mist generously.
As you are wrapping your gifts this season. Put about 5 drops of Noel onto a cotton pad and then tuck it underneath the tissue paper in the box before wrapping. This traps the holiday scent inside until the receiver opens their gift.
Put all of the ingredients into your cooking pot and bring to a bowl. Next, turn down the heat on the burner and let it simmer to fill the air with the beautiful aroma. Turn off the burner once the water has completely evaporated.
When it’s time to hit the books, the right environment can make all the difference. So, we are setting you up for success with 3 new diffuser blends for study time. These recipes are a natural way to boost memory, sharpen focus, and keep your energy steady while you work. By combining invigorating scents like Peppermint and Citrus, as well as grounding oils like Vetiver, these blends create an atmosphere that helps you stay clear headed and motivated.
Now that you have received your seasonal box with all of your autumn goodies, we are sure that you have explored the new and exciting Essential Oils and Blends. Of course, adding them to your diffuser or a roller is fun and easy, but we always like to give you a few unique ideas to get even more use of your new fall box!
Melt the wax and coconut oil in a double boiler, then remove from heat. Shake your bottle of Cafe Mocha and add in your drops. Stir well to dissolve the oils (there might be some specks of brown from the absolutes, but this will not affect the melt). Pour into the molds and let cool.
Use your molded mocha melt in a wax melt warmer as desired.
Optional: small piece of Citrine or Aventurine Crystal
(for Abundance)
Add the crystal (if using), Essential Oils and Carrier oil to your bottle then pop the roller top in. Rotate a few times to allow the oils to mix. Cap and label.
Before meditation, apply your roller to pulse points and inhale deeply to help you feel centered and set your intention.
We always love when a new seasonal box comes around and you get the opportunity once again to explore the new oils and products. Using all of the items on their own is a great way to get some amazing benefits and really see what they are like. But, of course, it can be really fun to create some new projects or recipes with the box contents as well. So, here are a few ideas to get you started with your summer box.
Pinch off a piece of the clay and roll it with your pin to about ¼” thick.
Cut your shapes using your cutters, press down on the clay to get the shapes you want.
If using flowers/leaves, press them into the clay to create impressions. Use your tools to accentuate the edges for a defined design. If you are not using them, create flowers or leaves in your clay using your tools.
Let the clay dry. Most air dry clays take 24 to 48 hours. Place them in a sunlit window for a faster drying time.
Place the small clay diffuser wherever you want and add a few drops of Secret Garden to scent your homemade floral oil diffuser.
Gently pour the alcohol into the bottle and add in the Essential Oils. Swirl to mix then add in the water. Close the sprayer and spritz as desired for a good feeling whenever you need it.
If you are one for reducing toxins in your home, you probably have thought about ditching the store-bought cleaning products and making your own. And why not? They work just as well, cost less, and keep your family healthy. With just a few basic supplies and your collection of Essential Oils, you can whip up almost any natural cleaner to use in any room of the house. Here are a few ideas to get you started on your spring cleaning routine.
The Basics
Most household cleaners can be made with some very simple ingredients found in your local grocery store or online. They are rather inexpensive and can be used for many projects.
Baking Soda
Witch Hazel
Vinegar
Distilled Water
Castile Soap
Hydrogen Peroxide
Alcohol
Additionally, empty glass spray bottles and jars are helpful for using and storing your products.
Cautions
Do not use plastic bottles for long term storage. The Essential Oils can degrade and leach chemicals from the plastic.
Always store your cleaners in a cool, dark space out of direct sun. This will make them last longer.
Do not use vinegar based cleaners on marble or wood.
We recommend using distilled water instead of tap water to help eliminate mold from forming in the product over time.
For water-based sprays to last longer than a week, ¼ of the recipe should contain high proof alcohol like Everclear.
Recipes
Multi-Purpose Cleansing Spray
Great for countertops, tables, toys, and regularly touched surfaces
Into the bottle, mix soap and Essential Oils. Add in vinegar and swirl, then add in water. This will last one week when refrigerated. If you want to last long term, replace 2 oz of vinegar with 2 oz high proof grain alcohol to preserve the spray. Shake gently then spray surfaces, let set 30 seconds and wipe with a clean towel.
Refreshing Linen Spray
Great for freshening up fabrics like curtains, mattresses, couches etc.
Mix together the Essential Oils and alcohol in the bottle, then add in the water. Shake gently and spray fabrics to eliminate musty odors and freshen things up.
Tub Scrub
Great for sinks, bathtubs, and showers
8 oz Glass Jar 1 C Baking Soda ¼ C Castile Soap ¼ C Hydrogen Peroxide 10-12 drops REVIVE Purify
In a bowl, combine Purify, soap, and hydrogen peroxide and mix well. Whisk in the baking soda until combined, it should be like a paste. Using a wet sponge, apply a thin coat to the surface area that is to be cleaned. Rinse sponge with hot water then scrub the covered area with the sponge getting all of the grime off. Rinse with warm water.
Put soap and Essential Oils into the bottle and swirl to mix, add in the baking soda, swirl again. Pour the warm water in last and close the top. Shake to mix and spray generously on greasy surfaces. Scrub with a warm, wet sponge. This will only be good for one use.

Design your own label using their templates and get creative. Simply title it “No More Monster Spray” and add any images you wish (you can even insert images of silly monsters). We’ve given you fun recipe ideas in the past for fall and winter candles, but what is a better gift for mom than a homemade “healthy” candle? There are two important things to note about using Essential Oils in candles though. The first is that it will take more oil to scent the candle than you think, so these recipes might sound heavy handed, but we need that much to create a scent throw. For this reason, you may also want to choose less expensive Essential Oils. Second, you will want to use a stronger scented oil blend. This will also help the natural extracts make a more fragrant candle.
Of course, you can always use your favorite REVIVE blend, but here are a few other ideas for you to try, based on some popular “not-so-healthy” store bought brands.
Base Recipe Ingredients:
4 oz Glass Container (a Mason Jar works well)
4 oz Soy Wax
Cotton Wicks
Double Boiler
Clothespin or Chopsticks to hold wick in place
2 tsp of your chosen Essential Oil Blend or pick one from below
Using your double boiler, gently melt your soy wax. If you have purchased a brand that can also be microwaved, feel free to do that in a glass measuring cup. Place your cotton wick at the center of your container and use your clothespin or chopsticks to hold the wick up and in place. Carefully mix your Essential Oil blend into the melted wax and pour into the jar. Let it cool and harden overnight.
Before gifting, trim the wick to about ½ inch long.
As the arrival of Spring draws near, we anticipate another delightful and lively holiday to embrace: St. Patrick’s Day. This festive occasion invites us to revel in themes of luck, indulgence in delicious food, and cherishing moments with loved ones. Elevate your celebrations by incorporating St. Paddy’s Diffuser Blends into your ambiance. Here are three captivating blends to try this holiday.
Who doesn’t love a holiday dedicated to love? And what’s a better way to create a more loveable ambiance than diffusing a romantic Essential Oil blend? By using oils known to encourage closeness and produce affectionate feelings, these blends are bound to put a little spark in your Valentine’s Day.
When that new REVIVE Seasonal Box graces your doorstep, it’s like unwrapping a treasure trove of aromatic delights! If you’re on the hunt for inspiration, here are some winter wonder recipes that’ll fill your space with enchanting scents and bring festive cheer to your routine.
Pour the Fractionated Coconut Oil into the bottle, then add in the drops of North Pole. Gently swirl to mix, add the alcohol, then swirl again. Place the reeds into the bottle and stir. Pull them back out, shaking off excess liquid, flip them over, and place them back in. Now, put your bottle somewhere that you want to add a little holiday ambiance.
In a small glass jar, mix together your carrier oil with your essential oil. Add in the sugar and stir until fully incorporated. Use twice weekly to slough away dead skin cells. Moisturize with a lip balm after use. Keep the container closed tightly in between uses.

If you are a fan of our Sweater Weather DIY Beeswax Candle recipe, you might be looking for other ideas to create more candles. Well, we have answered your call with some brand new recipes. Great for holiday gifts or just to add some ambiance to your own home.
*Keep in mind that candles made with Essential Oils are not going to smell as strong as store bought fake fragrance candles. You will need to use quite a few drops and also use stronger smelling oils.
Here is what you need for the base recipe:
4 oz Mason Jar
4 oz Beeswax (pellets work well)
1 Cotton Wick
Double Boiler
Clothespin or Chopsticks to hold wick in place
Essential Oil Blend of your choice
Optional: 1 T Coconut Oil (for even burning and stronger scent)
You can use a double boiler or a pot of water and a glass measuring cup to melt the wax. Pour in 4 ounces of beeswax and add the coconut oil if using. Melt over medium heat, this will take a while, be patient. Once melted, remove from heat, add in the Essential Oils and stir well (a disposable wooden stir stick works). Place your cotton wick in the bottom, center of the ball jar. A little trick is to put chopsticks on either side of the wick holding it in place or you can use a clothespin. Quickly pour the mix into the jar and let it cool/harden.
How to Use:
Trim the wick to about ½ inch and light it. Enjoy your DIY Candle!

What Are The Characteristics Of Fall Essential Oil Diffuser Blends?
First and foremost, what types of essential oils fall (pun intended) into the category of “autumn”? For different people, this season may invoke different feelings, scents, and sights. But for many of us, it’s the warm scent of pumpkin spice, the clean, crisp scent of citrus fruits or clove, and the relaxing thoughts of campfires.
Across these 10 fall scented essential oils, and 3 fall essential oil blends, you’ll see these characteristics portrayed in all their glory. These essential oils will have your home feeling warm and welcoming as the temperatures drop and the leaves start to fall. If you’re looking for other seasonal suggestions, take a look at our list of the best springtime essential oil diffuser blends or our top winter essential oils.
The 10 Best Fall Scented Essential Oils
We’re going to start with our list of the 10 best fall essential oils before we share our 3 favorite fall essential oil recipes. Many of these pure essential oils you see below will play a part in our fall essential oil blends. Let’s begin with perhaps the warmest, most welcoming scent of all – and one of our favorite fall essential oils: clove.
If you want warmth, you got it with this oil! Clove Essential Oil can heat up any blend and make you feel warm all over. This spicy scent is reminiscent of Chai lattes and pumpkin pie. When using Clove in blends, keep in mind that it is a hot oil and can be a little overwhelming, so do not use too much. Clove Essential Oil blends well with citrus, cinnamon, and some woodsy oils.
This juicy citrus is fresh and cheery and can brighten up any blend. Mixing well with spicy oils, Orange can aid in lifting the notes of the mixture and lifting the mood. Additionally, Orange is great to add to your natural cleaners, which can help kill those back to school germs.
Sweet and smooth, Vanilla is definitely a preferred smell that can round out any blend. Providing feelings of comfort and romance, this rich, warm oil is incredibly versatile. Vanilla Oleserin may remind you of fall baking and it is the perfect oil for your autumn blends.
The fresh scented Fir oils include Balsam, Douglas, and Siberian Fir Essential Oils. These piney, woodsy oils make you think of turning trees and hiking through a fall forest. The Fir oils often promote balanced emotions and a healthy respiratory system. They make a great addition to blends with other wood oils or citrus Essential Oils.
Another warm and spicy Essential Oil for fall is Ginger. Adding zest to any blend, this oil is great for digestive health which can be perfect if you are overdoing it on the yummy holiday foods. Ginger blends well with mint, lemon, and other spice oils.
Copaiba Essential Oil is a deep resinous oil that is a fantastic anti-inflammatory. It’s woody and subtly sweet scent makes a great addition to blends that contain floral or fruity notes. Copaiba is also a natural stress reliever, which can be very helpful when preparing for the holiday season.
Another wonderful woody scent to add to your autumn blends is Cedarwood. This calming oil smells like the great outdoors and is wonderful to use outside as well. Helping repel bugs and ticks, Cedarwood makes a great hiking buddy and would love to be your partner for an evening campfire.
Okay, okay, this might be kind of obvious, but what says fall more than pumpkin pie? This blend combines some of our favorites listed above and is the perfect oil to diffuse when you have company to create an inviting atmosphere. It smells so good, they may even wonder if you have been baking.
Who wouldn’t want to go into the woods during the fall season? The refreshing aroma of crisp leaves, damp moss, and earthy trees can be incredibly grounding. A gentle sweetness that settles out this blend encourages feelings of solace. Into the Woods is also great for clear breathing which is ideal for fall allergies.
Unfortunately, around the time that autumn arrives, so does the cold and flu season. Fight back with REVIVE Immunity Boost. This spicy and herbal blend supports your immune system and is great for natural cleaning.
Now that you know our favorite fall essential oils, you can diffuse them around your house to celebrate the season. They’re great on their own – but they’re better together! Here are a few DIY fall essential oil recipes you can try out at home:
Apple Orchard
Want to create the aroma of a fresh-baked apple pie without all the work? This is one of our very favorite essential oil fall blends:

Essential Oils and Chakras: How To Activate, Maintain, & Calm
Chakras (the Sanskrit word for wheel) are the 7 major energy centers of the body that run from the base of your spine to the top of your head. The thought is that the chakras need to be open and free-flowing to live a healthy life emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
When blockages occur, there are many tools for opening these Chakras back up and creating balance. Essential Oils are one of these helpful natural aids. That’s why today, we’re going to teach you the link between essential oils and chakras. You’ll learn which essential oils for chakras work best, and how to use them for each of the 7 major energy centers of the body.
If you’re hoping to live a more connected life, this is not an article you want to miss – read all the way through to the end. Let’s start by discussing the link between essential oils and chakras.
Essential Oils and Chakras – Is There A Link?
If you’re not well versed in using essential oils for chakra balancing, you might be a bit skeptical. Is there really a link here?
There sure is. In fact, this is one of the best uses for essential oils. And once you’ve experienced it yourself firsthand, you’ll never doubt the power of essential oils again. While concrete science is lacking, anecdotal evidence is abundant in support of using essential oils to activate, maintain, or calm the seven chakras.
What Are The Best Essential Oils For Chakras?
We know that you’re eager to start using aromatherapy for chakras – but which ones should you use? In just a moment, we’ll give you a comprehensive breakdown on which essential oils to use to maintain, which essential oils to activate, and which essential oils to calm each of the seven chakras.
However, here is a quick list of some of the essential oils we recommend incorporating along your spiritual path in one way or another:
Frankincense oil
Vetiver oil
Angelica oil
Sandalwood oil
Cardamom oil
Ylang Ylang oil
Grapefruit oil
Lemon oil
Myrhh oil
As we mentioned earlier, the tricky part is determining which of the seven chakras you want to activate, maintain, or calm. From there, we can recommend a specific essential oil to help you along the way.
For example, you’ll use a different oil for activating the root chakra than you would for maintaining or calming the root chakra. Similarly, recommendations for activating, maintaining, or calming the solar plexus chakra will all differ as well. So, let’s dive deep into the world of essential oils and chakras!
How To Use Essential Oils To Activate, Maintain, or Calm The Chakras
It’s the moment you’ve been waiting for – how to use essential oils for chakra activation, maintenance, or calming. We’ll go through the following chakras today, offering recommendations to help you take your spiritual well being into your own hands:
Muladhara (root chakra)
Svadhisthana (sacral chakra)
Manipura (solar plexus chakra)
Anahata (heart chakra)
Vishudda (throat chakra)
Anja (third eye chakra)
Sahasrara (crown chakra)
Let’s start off with Muladhara.
Muladhara
Root chakra attributes to our basic needs, physical survival, safety, and sense of belonging. Someone with a root chakra imbalance may experience black and white thinking, pessimism or negative thinking about life. The root chakra is our energy in how we feel rooted, secure, and safe in the world that surrounds us.
Maintain – Frankincense Sacra oil
Frankincense comes from tree resin and carries with it a woodsy scent. It aids in soothing racing thoughts, promotes a connection to the natural world, and rounds out the other root chakra oils suggested. There are three different types of frankincense oil – but for maintaining Muladhara, we recommend Frankincense sacra.
Activate – Angelica oil
When deficient, what shows is a lack of confidence and grounding in personal reality. You may not have goals or feel self-destructive, and have feelings of being abandoned or unloved. Angelica has sensory powers to amplify the body’s aura.
To Calm – Vetiver oil
An overactive root chakra will rear stubbornness or be unwilling to expand one’s view. Smokey Vetiver has earthy notes that are perfect to banish anxiety, burnout, and insomnia.REVIVE recommends that you blend the pure essential oil with a carrier oil such as fractionated coconut oil, and massage it onto the soles of your feet or inner thigh.
Svadhisthana
Sacral chakra deals primarily with issues of relationship, pleasure, play, and creation. When underactive, its bearer exhibits mental rigidity, a lack of passion, denial of pleasure, and excessive boundaries. In excess, an overactive svadhisthana is characterized by addiction to pleasure, extreme, strong emotions (bipolar), oversensitivity, and emotional dependency.
Maintain – Sandalwood oil
Sandalwood is the essential oil for the sacral chakra as it promotes positive self-esteem and contentment with the self, Stimulating a spiritual love regulates hormones and the reproductive system.
Activate – Cardamom oil
Cardamom essential oil is taken from the seeds of the fruit. It has a fresh, spicy, and sweet aroma and has been used as a stimulant and as an aphrodisiac. It is comforting, stimulating, warming, and has the ability to bring out the lover in you.
To Calm – Ylang Ylangoil
A sweet intoxicating floral fragrance of ylang-ylang is best to reduce stress and insomnia. It enhances the feeling of gratitude and connection, whether it be in relationships or for material blessings.
REVIVE recommends that you blend the pure essential oil with a carrier like Rosehip Oil, and massage it onto the lower back and abdomen.
Manipura
The Solar Plexus Chakra regulates the feelings of self-esteem, self-respect, self-discipline, ambition, and courage. When the solar plexus chakra becomes imbalanced, fears of rejection, criticism, obesity and aging begin to kick in. This chakra also holds our confidence and independence, which allows us to take risks and flow with gut feelings.
Maintain – Grapefruitoil
Grapefruit aids in appreciation of the body for everything it has done, where it is now, and everything it will continue to do. Unreleased emotions are stored in the belly which leads to physical problems later.
Activate – Juniper Berryoil
Juniper Berry detoxifies and helps clear the liver. It strengthens willpower and eases the sense of fear of failure. This, in turn, supports the restoration of self-confidence and a sense of self-worth.
To Calm – Helichrysum oil
Helichrysum unclutters the heart, stimulates kindness for self and others, and unifies the body/mind/spirit connection. It can reveal and unravel habitual ways of thinking that keep people stuck in patterns of painful experiences.
REVIVE recommends that you blend the pure essential oil with a carrier oil like Golden Jojoba Oil and massage it onto the lower back and abdomen
Anahata
The heart chakra directly affects the heart, lungs, chest, arms, and hands. When misaligned, symptoms like poor circulation, high or low blood pressure, and other heart and lung conditions can result. Mentally, an imbalanced heart chakra can result in problematic issues, such as co-dependence, manipulative behaviors, feelings of unworthiness, and an inability to trust yourself or others.
Maintain – Geraniumoil
Geranium is incredible for balancing. This oil may ease mood swings and continue to keep joy in and compassion in your heart and soul.
Activate – Ylang Ylang oil
Ylang Ylang is a comforting and warming oil that can help to build a stronger connection through expression and emotional support. This oil may help you to give love and receive love more easily.
To Calm – Sweet Marjoram oil
This relaxing oil can calm an overactive heart chakra by providing a soothing stability. This may help to quiet a burning heart that is feeling way too much emotionally.
REVIVE recommends that you blend the pure essential oil with a carrier oil like Sweet Almond Oil and place it directly onto the center of the breast bone.
Vishudda
The throat chakra represents your ability to be your authentic self and express your truths. When out of balance, you may not be able to speak up for yourself, feel intensely shy, or even talking too much. Additionally, you may experience health issues like sore throats, neck pain, or even thyroid disorders.
Maintain – Chamomileoil
Roman Chamomile is great for alleviating anxious feelings or anger that may arise through your voice. It may also help you to communicate in a respectful way.
Activate – Citronellaoil
Citronella protects, cleanses, clear negative energies, and strengthen and purify one’s life force. It is beneficial in clearing the mind and encouraging expressions,. Citronella oil is used to stimulate the throat chakra and clarify communication.
To Calm – Cypressoil
With an overactive throat chakra, you may be overly critical and inauthentic. Cypress may aid in bringing strength and stability while calming frazzled nerves.
REVIVE recommends that you blend the pure essential oil with a carrier like Grapeseed Oil and apply in a circular motion to the throat area.
Anja
Anja or Third Eye Chakra is located in the center of your forehead is the link to the mind, awareness, and openness. When in balance, one may be intuitive and see the big picture with the ability to think more clearly. If this Chakra is blocked, you could experience fear of the future, rigid beliefs, and even difficulting seeing.
Maintain – Sandalwood oil
Sandalwood oil encourages the mind to have a greater sense of awareness and promotes a calm and collective feeling. Often used in religious ceremonies, this soothing oil encourages spiritual connection.
Activate – Lemon oil
To spark intuition and bring light to the pineal gland, add Lemon Essential Oil to your practice. This uplifting scent can help to awaken the third eye and expand your thought process.
Calm – Frankincense King oil
This mega calming oil supports relaxation and balance. Wonderful for meditation, Frankincense King can release fears and bring us back to our center helping create homeostasis.
REVIVE recommends that you inhale or diffuse these oils as needed for the Third Eye.
Sahasrara
The Crown Chakra is located at the top of the head and it represents spirituality and enlightenment. A balanced Crown inspires consciousness, purpose, and understanding. Being out of balance here may feel disconnected, egotistical, and close-minded.
Maintain – Myrrhoil
When keeping the Crown in balance, Myrrh can aid in continuing that spiritual connection. Known to enhance meditation, this oil may promote higher consciousness and a focused mind.
Activate – REVIVE Exhale oil
An incredible essential oil blend for emotional and spiritual stability, we love Exhale for its ability to encourage harmony and help you to release negativity. This blend can boost your ability to connect at a higher level.
Calm – Vanilla oil
If your crown chakra is overly active, you may feel a sense of elitism or even superior to others. To bring you back down to Earth and forge that spirit/body connection, we recommend using Vanilla Absolute. This scent will soften the harsh energy and promote peace while honoring the divine that surrounds you.
REVIVE recommends a room diffusion or creating a diffuser mist to surround your crown with these balancing Essential Oils.

Our Favorite Non Toxic, DIY Essential Oil Household Cleaner Recipes
We’re going to share a DIY essential oil cleaner recipe for any type of use case. No matter what you’re looking to clean, we’ve got a recipe just for you. Let’s start with one of our favorite essential oils cleaners.
Essential Oil Glass Cleaner
If you find that your glass stovetops, windows, or mirrors are looking a bit spattered and caked up, you can use essential oils to restore their shine. And unlike many typical glass cleaners, this essential oil cleaner is 100% natural and non-toxic. Here’s what you’ll need:
1 1/2 cup vinegar
1 1/2 cup water
5 drops lemon essential oil
5 drops tea tree essential oil
Add these essential oils to a spray bottle and use to clean glass surfaces like windows, stovetops, mirrors, etc. You’ll enjoy a streak-free clean, every time.
Essential Oil Floor Cleaner
Next time you go to mop your floors, opt for a natural essential oil cleaner recipe rather than the chemical-filled detergent you have in your cupboards:
Mix these essential oils in a bucket thoroughly and use the concoction to mop floors. For enhanced cleaning, let the solution soak on the floors for a few minutes before scrubbing with your mop.
Essential Oil Furniture Cleaner and Polishing Spray
One of the most frequent areas of your home to clean is the furniture – your dinner table, chairs, desk, etc. These get heavy use and are commonly covered in dust, dead skin, hair, and other nasties.
4 teaspoons olive oil
1 teaspoon sweet orange essential oil
½ cup vinegar
3 ½ cups water
Add these ingredients to a spray bottle and apply them to your furniture. Then, buff the furniture with a microfiber cloth. Pat to dry if needed.
Essential Oil Drain Cleaner
Got some hair clogging up your shower drain, or an unpleasant smell coming from your kitchen sink? Draino has some pretty caustic, nasty ingredients in it. And you may not even have any on hand. If this is the case, you can rely on some household essential oils to clean the drain:
1 cup baking soda
10 drops lemon essential oil
½ cup vinegar
Mix lemon essential oil with baking soda and add to the drain. Pour vinegar in it, plug, and wash down with hot water after 30 minutes. This will not only clean your drains but will also drive away bad odors. Your sink or shower is left to smell fresh.
Essential Oil Bathroom Cleaner
Nobody loves cleaning the bathroom. But, it must be done frequently. And the next time you need to give it a good scrubbing, you can try essential oils instead of your typical household cleaner.
Mix all the ingredients together and use the paste to clean sinks and bathtubs. Clean with a cloth and rinse. Once your tub is squeaky clean, take a look at some of the different ways you can use essential oils in the bath for your next session!
Essential Oil Gentle Scrub
12 ounces baking soda
4 ounces Castile Soap
0.5 ounces of water
0.5 ounces vinegar
15 drops of tea tree oil
15 drops of Protect essential oil blend (or other essential oils of your choice)
Mix together and use the paste to clean surfaces that have more built-up and need scrubbing.
Mix ingredients together thoroughly. Add a little amount to a soft cloth, preferably microfiber, and clean your steel appliance. Use small circular motions to remove dirt, stains, fingerprints, etc.
Looking to craft your own all-purpose, 100% natural disinfectant spray? Once again, essential oils can help. Grab a spray bottle along with the following ingredients:
15 drops of Revive Immunity Boost which contains Clove, Lemon, Eucalyptus, Rosemary, Cinnamon Bark Essential Oils.
1 teaspoon organic Witch Hazel
2 ounces of distilled water
Add the ingredients to a spray bottle and shake thoroughly to mix. This all-purpose disinfecting spray helps eliminate disease-carrying pathogens. You can use it on cutting boards, countertops, children’s toys, refrigerators, and much more.
Essential Oil Room Freshener
Just looking to freshen things up around the house? Why not fall back on your favorite essential oils! Here is an example recipe:
6 drops eucalyptus essential oil
5 drops lavender essential oil
5 drops orange essential oil
2 drops tea tree essential oil
3 ounces of water or 1.5 ounces of water and 1.5 ounces of vodka
Add all ingredients to a spray bottle. Shake well and spray in the corners that smell musty or stuffy, and need freshening up. The vodka will help keep the fragrance last longer.
Essential oils degrade plastic surfaces so always use glass bottles to store and carry your homemade natural household cleaners.
Easy Guide for Deep Cleaning the House With Essential Oils
Here are some simple steps to deep clean your house with essential oils. Before you begin, make sure you have all the tools, equipment, and cleaners ready. You may need a pair of gloves, brooms, mops, buckets, scrubs, cleaning supplies, microfiber cloth, sponges, etc. If you prefer using non-toxic, natural household cleaners, you can make your own by using the DIY recipes we have listed below.
1) Start by de-cluttering
As Marie Kondo has been telling American audiences, only keep things that spark joy. The rest can be donated. This is an essential first step. Make sure you go through your stuff in the bedrooms, living room, storage rooms, basements, kitchen, etc., and separate the stuff you need and the stuff that has to go.
2) Arrange closets and cabinets
Once you have decided on what you are keeping, arrange the rest in their respective closets or cabinets. Dust your bookshelf and rearrange the books if needed.
3) Clean all surfaces
Clean all surfaces including windows in the living room, bedroom, children’s playroom, basement, etc. This includes sweeping the floors and stairs if any, dusting artwork, curios, fans, etc., and vacuuming couches and carpets. Make sure you put away stray items by keeping them back in their designated places.
4) Wipe down surfaces
Wipe down all surfaces, tabletops, and countertops. You can also polish the furniture.
5) Bathroom cleaning
Clean the toilet, scrub the bathtub and sink, and clean the mirror, floor, and walls. Scrub and wash faucets, showerheads, etc. Essential oils are great for the bathroom in particular because they can help fight mold.
6) Pay attention to neglected areas
Next dust and clean smaller things that usually escape notice. This includes doorknobs, light fixtures, electronic equipment, etc.
7) Deep clean the kitchen
Wipe down countertops, clean all appliances, flush out the sink, wash dustbins, set cabinets in order, and empty out the fridge and clean it. Also clean faucets and other fixtures.
8) Clean outdoors:
Mow the lawn. Clean the porch and entryway. Wash your car and clean out the garage.
9) Clean all floors:
Sweep and mop all the floors in the house, preferably using a strong disinfectant.
Final Thoughts On Using Essential Oils To Clean
Your home is now clean and tidy. It is easier to keep your house clean if you simply maintain it after the deep cleaning. If you make it a habit to keep things back in their designated place after use, you won’t have to tackle the problem of a mess.
When it comes to avoiding clutter, all you need to do is discard things you know you don’t need and put other things in their correct spots. Also, make sure you clean the house once every week. This will ensure it won’t be in complete disarray at the end of the year. Prevention is the best medicine, after all!
And now that we’ve shared our favorite essential oil recipes for cleaning the house, there is just one thing left to do – prepare your homemade cleaners and get to work!

And, let’s be honest – who doesn’t love DIY homemade gifts?! That on its own is reason enough to give these recipes below a try. Let’s dive right in with some awesome gift ideas featuring essential oils.
The Best Homemade Essential Oil Gifts Of The Year
When deciding what type of essential oil blend you want to give that special someone, consider the individual themselves. What could they use some more of in their life?
You probably already are familiar with some of the different benefits different essential oils offer, so if you know they struggle with sleep – a lavender essential oil-based blend will be perfect for them.
Or, do they suffer from anxiety or racing thoughts? Consider a calming essential oils blend. We are going to share a few example DIY recipes below, but this is where you can get really creative and personalize the gift.
If you aren’t sure where to begin, you really can’t go wrong with an ornament for their Christmas tree – featuring some of the best smelling essential oil in the world!
Scented Ornaments
Nothing says happy holidays like an ornament – these make the perfect gift around Christmas time! And when you use some essential oil, you’ll be giving them an amazing, aromatic Christmas present that delights the entire house.
Start by putting baking soda, cornstarch, and water into a pot over medium heat and stir well until powder dissolves.
Continuously stir while it comes to a boil (about 5 minutes). Once it thickens and begins to pull away from the sides of the pan, remove from heat and stir in the Essential Oils.
If you’re spicing the ornament up by using glitter or food coloring, stir it in now. Then, roll the dough to ¼ inch thickness. Use the cookie cutters and stamps to get creative and make as many as you can.
Using a straw, poke a hole through the top to create a spot for the ribbon. Separate ornaments carefully with a spatula and allow them to dry for 24-36 hours. Finish by tying the ribbon through the hole.
Stress Be Gone Roll-On
Everyone could use a sense of calming in their life. This stress be gone recipe is one of the best gift ideas if someone in your life could use a little plant therapy.
Put all of the drops of Essential Oils into the roll-on bottle. Use a small funnel to pour the Jojoba oil into the bottle and pop the top on. This is a great gender-neutral scent and makes a nice gift for a man, woman, or even a child.
Candy Cane Sugar Scrub
If you’ve never had the pleasure of trying sugar scrubs, you are missing out! This candy cane scrub makes for a great DIY Christmas gift.
In a glass bowl, mix together the drops of Essential Oils with the Almond oil. Once combined, stir in the sugar until smooth. If using crushed candy cane pieces, mix them in now. Scoop the mixture into the jar and close the container tightly. Decorate with red ribbon and a mini candy cane tied to the jar.
Cinnamint Plumping Lip Balm
You can get ultra creative this year with homemade stocking stuffers! Everyone is used to getting chapstick in their stocking, but what if you gave them a DIY stocking stuffer featuring essential oils?
In a glass bowl over a double boiler, mix together wax, shea butter, coconut oil, and almond oil over medium heat. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in the Essential Oils.
Carefully pour into the lip balm containers and let cool till hardened. You may refrigerate to speed up the cooling. The cinnamon and mint will help plump lips naturally.

You use Essential Oils for so many things in your life, you might be wondering… how can I use them for oral health? Believe it or not, it’s very easy. You can create an everyday use, natural DIY essential oil mouthwash to help kill germs, prevent infection, and promote overall healthy mouth and gums.
But, what essential oils should you use in concocting your own DIY mouthwash? There are so many to choose from that it can get overwhelming. Don’t worry though. Today, we’re going to teach you everything you need to know about essential oils as a mouthwash. You’ll learn which oils to use, how to use them, and much, much more. Let’s start with the question many of our readers are likely asking right now – can you really use essential oil as a mouthwash?
Can You Really Use Essential Oils As Mouthwash?
Let’s get one thing out of the way – yes – you can use essential oil as a mouthwash. It’s actually the best way to rinse those germs away safely, in our opinion. As such, this is one of the best uses for essential oils. In fact, many of your favorite mouth rinse brands – like Listerine – already use essential oils as part of their natural remedy. that means you may have been using essential oil as a part of your oral hygiene routine and you didn’t even know it!
Of course, you should continue with your daily routine of brushing and flossing. No amount of mouthwash can replace good dental hygiene. However, it can make a great supplement to your existing regimen.
Not only can a quality rinse leave you with nice, clean breath. But, it can also help eliminate tooth decay and periodontal disease – caused by excess bacteria in the mouth. Knowing this, you’re probably wondering how to make your own DIY essential oil mouthwash rinse. Here’s what you need to know:
How To Make Your Own DIY Essential Oil Mouthwash
Ready to get started using essential oils as mouthwash? Here is an easy recipe to make for daily use. Keep in mind that salt is not technically a carrier/emulsifier, but when used in this type of recipe where you are rinsing quickly and then spitting it out, it will work well. We like salt in this situation too because it inhibits bacteria and encourages healing.
In a glass, add your Essential Oils to the salt and mix together. Pour in the warm water and stir to help dilute. Voila – you’ve made your own natural mouthwash using your favorite oils!
√ Tea Tree Essential Oil is beneficial for mouth applications because of its powerful bacteria fighting abilities. It can also aid in keeping gingivitis at bay.
√ Due to its antimicrobial properties, Myrrh Essential Oil can be used to eliminate oral infections and inflammation.
√ Peppermint Essential Oil can help to reduce plaque build up and clean the gums. Additionally, the fresh scent aids in improving the smell of your breath and leaves a pleasant taste in your mouth.
How To Use Essential Oil Mouthwash (Actually Rinsing With Your DIY Blend)
Once you’ve carefully crafted your own mouthwash using the essential oils blend we recommend above, it’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for – actually rinsing with it. And there really isn’t much to it. Just treat the product like you would any other mouthwash. Rinse well for 20-30 seconds and spit. Simple as that!
And at this point, you’ve got a bacteria-free mouth and minty fresh breath to boot. The best part? You can rest assured you’ve used safe, natural

Our pets are our best friends. We love everything about them: their cute little nose, their funny tails, their soft fur, their smell… wait, no, that is where we draw the line. Unfortunately our sweet pets often carry a not so great odor with them. Whether it’s the smell from a litter box, an accident on the carpet, or the wet dog smell on the couch, we want to do our best getting rid of it naturally. Once again, this is where your Essential Oils can help!
Safety First
Pets are very fragile creatures and are more sensitive to Essential Oils than humans, so we are recommending that your pet be out of the room while you work on improving the smell. This will keep them from accidentally ingesting the oils or being immersed in them for too long. In addition, you may want to continue to leave a cat out of the room for a while after, as they are the most susceptible to issues caused by Essential Oils.
Diffusing
This is probably one of the easiest ways to spruce up the air in your space. Simply putting a purifying Essential Oil Blend into your diffuser and using it in the area will quickly improve the scent. The molecules that are emitted from diffusing will float into the room and help dissolve bad smells and even kill germs. If the space is larger, you can move the diffuser around the room every 10 minutes or you could use more than one diffuser. Some of the best blends for this would be REVIVE Purify, REVIVE Tumble & Tidy, or even REVIVE Protect. Single Essential Oils that have powerful air cleansing properties would be Lemon, Lavender, Eucalyptus, Lemongrass, or Rosemary to name a few.
Room Spray
Using an Essential Oil Room Spray is a quick and convenient way to eliminate pet odors. The great thing about a spray is that you can target a specific area. It’s great to use on drapes, couches, rugs, or just in the air. Room sprays are very simple to make and easy to tuck away in a cabinet until you need it. Simply spray the desired area as needed, then wait to dry before introducing the pet back in the room.
Add the Essential Oils and alcohol into the bottle, then swirl to mix. Pour in the water and put the top on. To use: shake gently then spritz onto the odorous area.
Carpet Powder
Oftentimes, it’s your carpet that is holding onto the stinky pet smell. Being a porous surface that your pet is hanging out on all day, it’s bound to soak up their stench. Creating a carpet powder with Essential Oils is an effective way to pull that odor out of the floor. Baking Soda is a great deodorizer and the oils will help disinfect the carpet by killing bacteria.
In a bowl, add in the Baking Soda and all the Essential Oils. Use a whisk to mix the oils in well. Put the mixture into the shaker. Sprinkle on carpet, then let soak in for 15-30 minutes making sure no person or pet walks on the surface. Vacuum up thoroughly.

How to Use
Shake gently, then spray your cloth mask a few times on both sides. Let the mask dry completely before wearing. Use as needed when you can’t wash your mask.

Now comes the big question – which essential oils should you use for headache management? If you were to consult the experts, you’d probably get a few different answers as to which are the best. This is because different essential oils can be used for different types of headaches.
For example, the protocol for a headache related to sinuses would be different from a tension headache. That’s why determining the root cause of your headache is a good idea.
Below, we’re going to share some of our favorite products and explain which types of headaches they work best for. We’ll start with one of our favorites: peppermint oil.
Many studies have been done to prove that Peppermint Essential Oil is an effective alternative therapy for alleviating headaches.
The instant cooling feeling that comes from this fresh oil helps soothe pain on the spot. In addition, Peppermint has been shown to smooth muscle contraction which eases pain because the muscle is not tightening.
This incredible oil will also help stimulate blood flow which really helps ease tension in the temples and base of the head. When applied topically, Peppermint oil works very quickly. One study showed it lessened the severity of the head pain in less than 15 minutes!
This wonderful herbal oil is well known for its pain-relieving abilities. Used for hundreds of years in folk medicine, Rosemary Essential Oil has been relied upon for calming inflammation, increased alertness, and easing discomfort.
Rosemary is also very stimulating and great for circulation. When you have a headache, it can actually encourage blood vessels to open and aid in moving it along.
The key to utilizing Lavender oil when you have a headache is to help reduce feelings of stress and anxiety, thus calming tension headaches.
Lavender has proven to relax the central nervous system and increase serotonin levels to help improve your mood.
This is also an incredible choice for those that suffer from migraines. It is known that one of the common triggers for migraines is disrupted sleep patterns.
Lavender oil is an excellent aid for improving sleep quality. This could be very beneficial in maintaining healthy sleep patterns which may keep migraine sufferers free from attacks.
Lastly, in one reassuring study, it was found that inhaling Lavender Essential Oil for 15 minutes could reduce migraine pain in the early stages. Additionally, topical application of Lavender oil has been shown in studies to reduce pain as well.
If you suffer from headaches caused by sinus issues, then Eucalyptus is the oil for you. This amazingly fresh oil can encourage airways to open up and relieve pressure, so it can naturally help to ease head pain.
In addition, one study showed how just inhaling Eucalyptus Essential Oil, reduced pain and promoted emotional stability.
The strong anti-inflammatory effects of Eucalyptus are perfect for alleviating pain in general, but when it comes to headaches, it can really be a pain stopper.
A useful study proved that using Eucalyptus together with Peppermint oil applied topically to the forehead and temples reduced sensitivity during headaches.
“Headache Relief” is on its way, with this expertly crafted, ready-to-use blend from REVIVE. Offered as a roll-on for immediate topical use or an undiluted oil, this synergy is the perfect mix of all of the best headache-fighting oils.
Combining all of the Essential Oils discussed in this article with Hyssop oil (for added pain relief), it is a superior head pain killer. This blend can help soothe head and neck tension as well as provide respiratory support.
When using the pure Essential Oil blend, you could easily add 4-5 drops in your essential oil diffuser when you begin to feel the headache to help aromatically combat the pain.
Alternatively, you could use the Headache Relief Roller and apply it topically. It will instantly provide that cooling relief and then go straight to the pain to start fighting it right away.
Headaches can be incredibly debilitating. As your head is hurting, throbbing, and pounding, you’ll find yourself trying anything to find relief. Is it possible to treat, or even prevent, headaches using essential oils? Today, we’re going to address this common question.
It is impossible to focus, let alone accomplish anything in that condition. Whether it was triggered by tension, sinuses, or stress, you need to do whatever you can do to get better and get your day back on track.
Preventing headaches from happening in the first place would be ideal. Drinking enough water, getting enough sleep, and keeping stress levels under control, can all help keep dreaded head pain away.
But if they still tend to sneak up, essential oils can be a great natural solution to this problem. Plus, they can even alleviate pain quicker than most over-the-counter medicine.
Finding the right oils that help reduce stress, soothe pain, and increase circulation is important to encourage the head discomfort to go away.
Can Essential Oils Be Used For Headache Relief?
Yes – certain essential oils have healing properties that could prove helpful in eliminating headaches. If you think about what causes tension headaches, it’s usually inflammation. And as you might already know, essential oils have anti-inflammatory properties.
The key, however, is in using the right essential oils. While just about every oil has some healing benefits, only a few will prove worthy of using when it comes to headache relief. Today, we’re going to explain which ones we recommend.
First, though, be sure the cause of your headache isn’t something simple like dehydration. If you aren’t getting enough water daily, you’ll end up with a headache with or without essential oils.
How To Actually Use Essential Oils For Headaches
In a pinch and don’t own Headache Relief yet? If you have the individual oils we listed above, then you can concoct your own blend and start feeling better ASAP!
Just be sure you have carrier oil on hand because applying these hot oils on their own could end up burning your skin. Here is a sample recipe you can follow:
Mix all the ingredients in a small bowl. Massage the blend onto your temples and forehead when a headache strikes.
If you suffer from frequent tension headaches or migraines, you would be wise to produce a larger batch of this and keep it on hand. That way, the next time you feel one coming on, you’re ahead of the curve and can stop it before it stops you.

Either way, we will have a section for our essential oil recommendations for women followed by a separate section of essential oil recommendations for men. Let’s not waste any more time!
Essential Oils For Women’s Infertility
If you’re a woman struggling with infertility, consider using the following essential oils. These are shown to help with balancing your hormones, increasing estrogen, and more.
If you pair these with the essential oils we’ll share for your male partner later on, there is a good chance your woes will cease!
Geranium is a wonderful essential oil for balance in all aspects. It can be very helpful when it comes to balancing female hormones.
Oftentimes, the reason women are having difficulty conceiving is because of hormonal imbalance. Geranium Essential Oil supports the adrenal cortex which encourages the release of regular estrogen levels.
This could help regulate menstrual phases, ease PMS, and may even give relief to uterine problems. In addition, Geranium is an amazing oil for stress and anxiety which is often another issue that arises when you are having a hard time getting pregnant.
It can provide a calming yet uplifting effect when you are feeling down. Lastly, Geranium oil can even be used as an aphrodisiac by promoting feelings of intimacy and sexuality creating a bond between the two people. This oil can be a great addition to a couple’s massage.
This herbal essential oil is incredible at balancing estrogen production. Many fertility issues stem from estrogen levels not being ideal such as PCOS and endometriosis.
Also, it is common for infertility to come from thyroid levels being off. Clary Sage Essential Oil can aid in regulating thyroid hormones. In studies, this fantastic female oil has proven to reduce cortisol levels by 36% and improve TSH levels.
It is also great for improving mood by combatting depression and stress. One study found a direct link between high-stress levels to the ability to get pregnant. Women with the higher levels of the stress enzyme, alpha-amylase were twice as likely to be infertile.
So, because Clary Sage is beneficial for both hormones and for stress, it is a perfect choice for a woman when trying to conceive. Adding Lavender Essential Oil to Clary Sage could be even better because of its ability to calm and balance as well.
Normal progesterone levels are also very important when you need your body in prime shape to start a family.
Thyme Essential Oil has high levels of Phyto progestins (plant-based progesterone) proven to naturally balance progesterone levels which is incredibly helpful for both men and women.
One study showed that the use of Thyme oil reduced the number and size of ovarian cysts for women dealing with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.
This can be advantageous for women who suffer from PCOS and are having difficulty conceiving due to cysts on the ovaries.
Fennel Oil is helpful for women trying to increase fertility for two reasons. First, it is phytoestrogenic meaning it can mimic estrogen in the body at low levels which can encourage hormonal balance and may help promote menstruation.
Second, it has shown in some preliminary studies that it may help increase the number of ovarian follicles which help release the egg.
This is good news for women who may not always release an egg each month or for those that are reaching advanced maternal age.
In addition, recent research has shown that the chemical components of Fennel oil might help reduce pain during heavy periods.
Perhaps you are a woman that’s fertile as can be – and you aren’t the problem when it comes to conceiving.
If you and your male partner believe they might be the one who is infertile, you can try using the following essential oils to increase their fertility levels!
Low testosterone is a common reason for men to have infertility issues. Even though there are not a lot of scientific studies to back it up, Sandalwood Essential Oil is said to help boost testosterone levels.
This could be beneficial for men with a low sperm count. What we do know for sure is that Sandalwood is amazing at helping fight stress and encourage more sleep which is super helpful when trying to maintain good levels of testosterone.
In addition, this soft and sensuous oil is the perfect choice for a couple’s massage as it is known to be an incredible aphrodisiac for men and can improve low libido.
This grounding oil is outstanding for calming the mind, helping discourage fear, and relaxing the body. All of these things are important when preparing yourself to have a baby.
Frankincense can absolutely aid in reducing the stress that comes with worrying about the pressure you may be under.
On top of that, animal studies have shown that Frankincense just might be helpful in improving sperm mobility and density.
Experts think this may be because of Frankincense’s ability to increase the hormones of spermatogenesis in the pituitary gland. More research is needed, but in the meantime, it can’t hurt to use this spectacular oil.
If you’re trying to conceive and have been struggling thus far, then we highly recommend you read our guide on using essential oils for fertility!

These will help you put the cigarettes down while also helping you manage the withdrawal symptoms. Let’s start with one of our favorites – Black Pepper.
Because nicotine stimulates the respiratory system when inhaled, Black Pepper Essential Oil can be used as a replacement.
Constituents of Black Pepper create a sensation in the chest aiding in reducing withdrawal symptoms. In one study, reported craving for cigarettes was significantly reduced after puffing on a cartridge containing Black Pepper Oil vs. menthol oil or no oil at all.
In addition, Black Pepper Oil provides a warming sensation in the lungs mimicking nicotine. Black Pepper may also be useful for quitting because it promotes mental stimulation, drives away anxious feelings, and is a powerful antioxidant.
Coming in a close second, Angelica Oil proved to be nearly as effective as Black Pepper Essential Oil in one study performed on college students.
During nicotine withdrawals, students inhaled tissue paper that had these oils dropped onto them. Angelica Essential Oil was reported to be great for delaying that next cigarette craving.
This aromatic oil provides stimulation to the lungs and sinuses which may feel similar to how your body reacts while smoking. It is also beneficial that Angelica is incredibly calming. This oil can be helpful in reducing feelings of irritability and bring emotional release when needed most.
For thousands of years, Lavender Essential Oil has been known as a natural remedy for stress and anxiety.
Because of this, a study of 60 smokers was conducted in an attempt to prove the efficacy of this oil in calming the minds of anxious smokers.
During withdrawals, the Lavender group inhaled the Essential Oil administered through a mask while the other groups received a placebo or nicotine replacement.
The results of the Lavender group were lowered blood pressure and heart rate, as well as a reported decrease in cravings and anxiety. This is great news, and it once again proves that Lavender Oil is a wonderful stress reliever.
Unfortunately, when you quit smoking, you may experience some serious withdrawal symptoms including headaches, nausea, and lack of energy.
This is where Peppermint Oil comes in. This fresh and fragrant oil is incredible for giving you a boost when you need it. It is also great for promoting circulation and can be useful for eliminating tension in the head and neck.
Quitting smoking can be one of the hardest things you ever do. It is said that on average, smokers attempt to quit nearly 30 times before successfully giving up nicotine!
This incredibly addictive substance results in 480,000 deaths per year, so it is understandable why someone may try over and over again to finally rid their lives of this drug.
There are many different ways people attempt to quit utilizing aids such as hypnosis, nicotine replacement therapy, counseling, medication, or just going cold turkey.
A great thing to know is that no matter how you choose to quit, Essential Oils are a great complementary therapy that can be used with other methods to boost your chances of quitting for good.

What Are The Best Essential Oils To Use For Anti Aging?
The following essential oil products definitely have a place in your skincare regimen – but which ones you end up choosing will ultimately depend on what you want for your skin.
At the end of this guide, we’ll share a blend you can formulate using some of the following oils. We’ll also share an easy-to-use product that might be worth looking at if you don’t want to go through the hassle of creating blends yourself.
First – we want to start with one of the best out there – carrot seed oil.
Okay, so you may not have heard about this lesser-known essential oil, but maybe you’re familiar with the benefits vitamin C offers for aging skin?
Those expensive serums, masks, and exfoliators that promise brighter skin are a store-bought option, but why not use your oils?
Carrot seed essential oil contains considerable amounts of both vitamin C and vitamin A: two incredible ingredients for skin support.
In addition, carrot oil has carotenoids that fight inflammation and improve skin tone. It is a powerful antioxidant that combats free radicals that cause cell damage.
All together, these components lead to essential oil that improves moisture, rejuvenates dull skin, and promotes cell turnover.
One important note on Carrot Seed Oil is that it does not smell the best aromatically, so it is definitely recommended to combine it with another Essential Oil from the list below.
In contrast to Carrot Seed Oil, Rose Oil smells divine! This strongly scented floral oil is a perfect match for toning down the smell of carrot.
Plus, a little goes a long way. This highly valuable oil is wonderful for mature skin as it promotes an even skin tone by fighting inflammation, boosting moisture maintenance, and reducing puffy or red skin.
Rose Essential Oil has also proven to be another spectacular antioxidant thus offering treatment for preventing skin damage. Lastly, in knowing that Rose Oil is great for improving estrogen levels during menopause, it could also help bring back that youthful glow.
This prized Essential Oil is wonderful for skin in general but can be especially helpful when with facial anti-aging.
Frankincense has proven to promote healthy tissue growth and help prevent scarring. It stimulates the production of elastin and collagen which really negates the formation of wrinkles.
Frankincense is anti-inflammatory and an antioxidant, but one of the best therapeutic benefits is that it is a cicatrisant. This means that it can actually help encourage skin cell renewal which rejuvenates the skin!
Some preliminary studies have shown compounds in frankincense oil to be effective at fighting some cancers, so adding this oil to your skincare routine may aid in skin cancer prevention to boot.
One major reason skin begins to age prematurely is dryness. You must maintain proper moisture. This is where Sandalwood Essential Oil comes in.
It also encourages healthy blood circulation which keeps skin fresh and smooth. Boasting anti-inflammatory properties, Sandalwood may also reduce undesired puffiness as well.
Carrier Oils
A very important part of creating an anti-aging essential oil blend for your face is to consider the benefits that the carrier oil adds to your final product.
The carrier, or base oil for your essential oils, contains many components that are just as valuable. Knowing what type of skin you have and what outcome you are looking for will help in choosing the right carrier oil for you.
This oil is a super moisturizer, so if you suffer from dry skin, add this one to your regime. Rich in GLA (Omega 6) fatty acids, Evening Primrose reduces inflammation and leaves skin nourished.
This carrier oil promotes healthy skin structure and improves elasticity. Evening Primrose Oil is best when used as only a portion of your base oil, about 10-30% of your final product is ideal.
Are you sensing a trend here? Yes, it seems all types of rose-related flowers are great for mature skin! Rosehip Seed Oil is full of Omegas 3, 6, and 9, plus it contains Vitamins E and A which all aid in collagen and elastin production.
It is also a great antioxidant and it aids in tissue regeneration. It is recommended to keep it at about 20-25% of the total base oil.
Pomegranate Seed Oil is ultra-nourishing and conditioning. The polyphenol antioxidant content is wonderful for aging, mature, or damaged skin.
It also contains Omega 5 which penetrates deeply and helps brighten, tone and produce hydrated skin. Pomegranate Seed Oil is also relatively light and scentless, so it’s a great add-on carrier oil.
This luxurious oil is great for all skin types, but especially sensitive and aging skin. Argan Oil helps to restore dull complexions and diminish fine lines. High in Omegas 6 and 9 and Vitamin E, this protective oil will aid in cell renewal.

There are so many different ways you can attain the benefits of essential oils – but when it comes to an upset stomach in particular, how should you apply these? Directly to your stomach?
This is sort of a personal preference thing – you can certainly diffuse these or ingest them (assuming the essential oil you have is safe for consumption).
But, for an upset stomach, in particular, massaging the essential oils directly onto your belly is the best approach.
Your skin has pores, and these pores will allow the oil to get through into your body and be distributed to where it needs to go.
Keep in mind that you need to dilute your essential oils prior to ingesting or applying to your skin, though! We’ll discuss this more in-depth later on.
Mix Your Own Nausea Blend
These essential oils will be great on their own, and just one of these might be all it takes to clear up your stomachache.
But if you want to start feeling better as quickly as possible, we encourage you to use an essential oil blend – either one you purchase here on our site or one you create using each individual essential oil listed below:
3 Drops Lemon Essential Oil
2 Drops Peppermint Essential Oil
1 Drop Ginger Essential Oil
This is a base blend that can be used in a diffuser or added to a carrier oil for topical application. This blend is safe for inhalation during pregnancy, but not while nursing.
We want to quickly make you aware that peppermint oil can reduce milk supply. If you are breastfeeding, you may switch out Fennel for Peppermint which will actually encourage a greater milk supply.

There are four essential oils in particular that you can lean on the next time menopause symptoms strike. We are going to start with one of our personal favorites as it pertains to menopause – clary sage.
Seriously though, this oil is really a woman’s best friend. This amazing herbal oil benefits a woman in all stages of her life, and especially when dealing with menopause.
Great for balancing emotions, Clary Sage can help ease irritability and anxiety and improve your mood. In fact, one study showed that menopausal women experienced anti-depressant effects after inhaling Clary Sage Oil.
In addition, the results of smelling this oil also reduced the stress hormone (cortisol) levels by 36%, which in the long term can prevent weight gain as well. A drop in estrogen production causes many menopause symptoms including hot flashes.
Clary Sage helps balance estrogen levels. When used as a preventative measure, it can help lessen the frequency and severity of hot flashes.
This peppy oil is a great addition to your collection when you are experiencing the many signs of this transitional stage.
Brain fog, lack of focus, and exhaustion often accompany menopause; and Peppermint Essential Oil is the perfect choice for fighting these issues.
This powerful and uplifting oil can encourage energy, clear thinking, and even boost your mood! Simply inhaling Peppermint can enhance focus, alertness, and concentration.
Studies have shown that it can even help with the accuracy of memory and improved exercise performance. Another way that Peppermint can be super helpful during this time is to use it as a cooling method.
When those hot flashes do breakthrough, this menthol-containing oil is amazing for putting out that fire. A simple spray made of Peppermint oil and water could really cool you down when used topically during the flash.
Two huge issues that arise during menopause are mood swings and insomnia. Lavender oil is incredible at combating both of these.
As you probably already know, Lavender Essential Oil is one of the best choices for calming. It is one of the most researched oils and has proven to soothe the central nervous system, regulate heart rate, and reduce blood pressure.
In cases of insomnia, Lavender has shown in studies to improve quality and duration of sleep, as well as better mental and physical health and daytime wakefulness.
In situations of unease and mood stability, Lavender has proven in studies to greatly improve anxiety in postpartum mothers and dental patients.
In addition, neuroimaging has shown that inhalation of Lavender has a relaxing effect (especially on women). To take advantage of this incredible oil, simply diffuse at night or add a few drops to an unscented lotion and apply at bedtime.
This floral oil is very similar to Rose but much more affordable. Geranium Essential Oil is another wonderful oil that is really beneficial for women in general but could definitely be useful for symptoms of menopause.
Geranium, like Lavender, is great for stabilizing mood and promoting emotional wellness. It is also a good choice when dealing with low libido.
A blend of Geranium, Lavender, Fennel, and Rose oils showed in a 2017 study that aromatherapy can increase the sexual function of menopausal women.
In a separate study, when Geranium oil was used in a weekly massage, it decreased pain, depression, and hot flashes for women in this age group. Because of these results, one of the best ways to use Geranium Essential Oil is to apply topically daily mixed with a carrier or lotion.
Going through menopause can really affect a woman physically and emotionally. The range of symptoms that result from this life change vary but most often include hot flashes, low libido, mood swings, and trouble sleeping.
The hormonal fluctuations could really keep you from feeling like yourself. And the worst part about it is that this phase of your life could last a whole decade!
This means that it is very important to find a healthy way to control the issues so you can go on being the strong and wonderful woman that you are. Many people believe that they need to turn to hormone replacement therapy, but Essential Oils can actually help tackle many of the problems naturally.
In this complete guide, we’re going to explain how you can use essential oil to combat menopause symptoms. We’ll list a few of our favorite recommendations, and explain where you should apply them for the highest healing potential. Let’s not waste any time!

Let’s talk facts. Which specific products have actually proven to help keep bugs at bay?
There have been many studies done over the years to help show what natural plant extracts might really work to repel insects. So, let’s go over the details.
Not to be confused with the two separate oils, Lemon and Eucalyptus, Lemon Eucalyptus is a specific type of Eucalyptus plant known as Eucalyptus citriodora.
The lemon-scented gum plant is very high in citronellol which has proven to be effective in driving away bugs.
This oil also contains para-menthane 3, 8 diols also known as PMD which is the only plant-based repellent advocated for use by the CDC.
Technically, the Essential Oil of Lemon Eucalyptus is not registered with the EPA and only contains a small amount of PMD, while the artificially boosted oil of Lemon Eucalyptus or OLE contains about 60% PMD and is proven to work at repelling bugs for up to 8 hours.
The lemon eucalyptus oil itself is volatile to oxygen and does not last as long, so it has shown to only be effective for about 1 hour. Fortunately, there are ways to extend the life of the oil which we will get to later.
Cedarwood Oil is specifically helpful for repelling fleas, ants, and ticks. In one study, Cedarwood Essential Oil was placed between ants and their food source, and the ants were driven in the other direction.
In addition, the component cedrol has been helpful to eliminate ticks in studies. When high doses of cedrol were exposed to black-legged tick nymphs, the results were fatal.
Geraniol, the main component of Geranium oil, has proven to be effective in repelling a wide range of insects.
It has been the topic of many studies, showing over and over again that it provides powerful protection.
In one study, testing indoor and outdoor efficiency while being diffused, it proved over 95% repellency at 3 meters. Other studies have shown that Geraniol is great for deterring termites, lice, and flies.
In a separate study on 4 tick species, a plant-based repellent containing 5% Geraniol kept over 95% of the ticks away for up to 3 and a half hours. The levels of Geraniol and Citronellol are slightly higher in the Rose Geranium variety.
This pleasant-smelling oil has a very specific job when used to repel insects. Not, because it keeps the bugs away, but rather because it extends the life of the other essential oils used in the blend.
Just a 5% dilution of vanillin could prolong the life of the volatile oils by up to 8 hours. This is incredibly helpful as the effects of the essential oil only last about an hour on their own.
But if you’re looking for a blend of some of the top essential oil products all in one concoction, then you have got to learn about Bugs Away.
It’s a beautiful warm day, the birds are chirping, the sun is shining and you have decided to have a picnic.
You find your perfect area of grass, have a yummy lunch and get all set up. When out of nowhere, here they come… the bugs! Buzzing in your ear, landing on your skin, and biting you. UGH! Bugs can be such a pain!
One of the greatest things you can do for yourself and your family is to use natural products when they are available and effective.
Choosing to use a natural insect repellent on the ones you love may be something you desire, but how do you know what products you can trust to keep your family safe?
The good news is that there are many oils that have been proven to adequately aid in protecting you from invading insects.
Can You Really Use Essential Oils As Insect Repellent?
If you love being outside as much as we do, then you probably deal with your fair share of bug bites. Mosquito repellent doesn’t always work, and when it does, you’re still left with that nasty bug spray smell that nobody wants to carry around with them.
This begs the question, can you really use essential oil as a natural insect repellent?
The answer is yes – there are quite a few oils that can help repel and deter insects from giving you grief when you step outside next.
Many of your favorite oils actually have the ability to repel bugs – you just might not have known it, until now!
We’re not going to take up any more of your time – let’s get right into which oils we recommend you use if you’re looking to create your own natural insect or mosquito repellent.
All these oils we’ve shared thus far have natural insect repellent abilities on their own and can be used to help keep the bugs at bay.
But in the interest of keeping things simple for you, and helping you get the most bang for your buck, consider Bugs Away Essential Oil Blend or Spray.
It contains many of the awesome oils we’ve listed today, like lemon eucalyptus, catnip, vanilla, cedarwood, and more – combined with fractionated coconut oil.
Together, these oils make insect problems a thing of the past – helping you spend time outside with your friends, family, or all on your own – without the hassle of swatting at bugs every few seconds! If you want to keep things simple, this is the product for you.
Achieve Synergistic Efficiency With Your Homemade Mosquito Repellent
Synergy is defined as an outcome having a combined greater effect than the sum of all its parts. This applies to holistic aromatherapy very often as we know that using two or more oils in a blend creates a compounding effect that is better than using just one Essential Oil.
This same rule applies to creating a natural bug blend. Utilizing a few different essential oils that are good for repelling insects may increase the effectiveness because of its synergistic effect.
Adding an essential oil that is high in Geraniol with an essential oil that contains PMD and an essential oil rich in citronellol could offer much greater protection against pesky bugs.
Best Carrier Options for Essential Oil Insect Repellents
How you prepare your natural repellent can be just as important as the oils you use. As mentioned earlier, essential oils are very volatile and dissipate quickly once they are exposed to oxygen.
Studies have been performed to see how one can elongate the life of the oil to increase protection. One study showed that adding the oil to a cream base extended the repellency to 2-3 hours instead of 20-60 minutes.
Lauric acid is saturated fat found in Fractionated Coconut Oil that has proven to fend off fleas, ticks, and more.
In addition, coconut oil creates a stabilizing effect for the essential oils used in the mixture, thus making it a great choice for a base ingredient. Also, a study out of India found that adding just 2% of Neem Oil to Fractionated Coconut Oil kept volunteers protected from bites up to 12 hours.
If you choose to create a spray-style bug repellent, you could make it water-based, but you might consider adding vanilla or carrier oil to help extend the protection time.
In general, though, you will have to re-apply more often than with an oil or cream-based recipe. Also, remember that essential oils and water do not mix, so at least 25% of your recipe should include high-proof alcohol to solubilize the mixture.
How Do You Make Insect Repellent With Essential Oils?
If you really want to unlock the power of synergism capable with these essential oil products, consider buying them individually and creating your own concoction at home!
By mixing these together with a carrier oil, you’ll truly unlock all the benefits they have to offer. Here is a recipe you can follow.
Put all of the drops of essential oil into the bottom of the bottle, swirl to mix together. Add the Neem Oil and Coconut Oil and close the lid. Roll around in hands to combine thoroughly. Apply oil generously to skin (avoiding clothing) before going outside in buggy areas.
Of course, if you are not wanting to make your own, REVIVE has you covered with our Bugs Away Outdoor Spray. This protective spray utilizes many of the oils we just discussed and is ready for use when you want to enjoy the outdoors without the hassle of obnoxious insects.
Final Thoughts On Using Essential Oils As Insect Repellent
Now that you know you can in fact use some of your favorite natural essential oils as insect repellents, all that is left to do is grab your oils and mix them together in a spray bottle.
From there, you have your very own NATURAL mosquito repellent that will allow you to enjoy the great outdoors without worrying about bug bites.
Or, you can save yourself the time and hassle and instead just grab a spray bottle of Bugs Away – the best natural mosquito repellent currently out there.
If you can bring your diffuser outside with you, then diffusing these on your patio or balcony will offer similar effects of a citronella candle – creating a peaceful ambiance free of pesky little bugs!
Now, without any further ado, we’re going to share the best essential oils for bug bites. These will work great to soothe itchy, irritated skin the next time a bug snacks on you – whether it’s a mosquito or chigger, or any other annoying pest.
In terms of actually using these essential oil products, we’ll share a great way to blend them all together for an amazing, itch-relief concoction at the end.
As you know, this incredibly useful oil is great for soothing your mind, but it is also amazing for soothing skin.
Lavender Essential Oil contributes all of the properties you need when dealing with a bite or sting from an insect.
This versatile oil relieves pain by calming the nerve response under your skin. It reduces swelling by fighting inflammation and it helps heal the bite by preventing infection.
All of these things are important when you are treating a wound of any sort. In addition, Lavender oil is super gentle. This means that it is a great choice for kids, the elderly, and dogs too.
Note: Chamomile has the same properties and may be used in place of or in addition to Lavender. If you prefer the scent of this essential oil instead, you’re welcome to give it a shot!
One key thing you need to pay attention to when dealing with a bite or a sting is making sure that it does not get infected.
This is where Tea Tree can be very helpful. The incredible antifungal and antimicrobial properties of this oil make it a perfect choice for preventing infection.
In addition, Tea Tree essential oil helps fight the histamine reaction that happens in your body.
A successful study on this Australian plant showed that it can effectively reduce inflammation and block the histamine in only 10 minutes. This basically neutralizes the poison and calms the redness and pain very quickly.
In knowing that the main reason a bug bite hurts is due to the body’s inflammatory response, it is best to try to control that.
Rosemary is a powerhouse anti-inflammatory and analgesic. This herbal oil can ease irritation very well by reducing swelling and soothing discomfort.
One study showed that patients who used Rosemary oil on shoulder pain reduced their agony by 30%. A separate animal study demonstrated that this pain-relieving oil worked better than acetaminophen. Rosemary oil is also loaded with antioxidants which encourages healing.
Peppermint oil is an excellent choice for bug bites because it can eliminate itchiness. It instantly has a cooling effect (due to its menthol content), which is ideal for the burning feeling you often get from a bite or sting.
This oil has proven to safely and effectively soothe and even numb an itch. In a study of pregnant women suffering from Pruritis (constant belly itch during pregnancy), Peppermint greatly reduced the level of itch the women experienced.
Additionally, this powerful oil is amazing for deterring bugs as well, so if you are using it for a current bite, it may prevent new ones from happening. Peppermint Essential Oil can be very strong and works wonders at a low dilution rate of only 1%.
All these essential oils are great for bug bites – but what if you could prevent insect problems in the first place?
That’s where our Bugs Away essential oil blend comes in. This product contains a few different essential oils blended into one handy concoction to help deter any insects in the first place!
By simply spraying or rubbing a few drops onto/into your skin before heading outside, you’ll do wonders to repel any hungry insects that are just waiting to feast on you.
If you’re hanging out on your patio or balcony, consider bringing your diffuser outside with you and letting it run to keep the bugs away from you and your friends while you enjoy the great outdoors.
Don’t have time to make your own DIY? We’ve gone through the hassel for you by formulating Bugs Be Gone Insect Repellent!

When it comes to injury from insects, you really want to focus on soothing the pain and reducing swelling as quickly as possible.
Choosing a carrier that is just as an anti-inflammatory as your Essential Oils will really help you amp up the pain relief.
You could create a ready-made roller ball blend that is there for you whenever you need it. Simply mix a very gentle, balancing oil like Jojoba with your chosen essential oils and keep it in your roller bottle for when the bugs strike.
Another option could be doing a quick, on-the-spot treatment with a cotton pad. Adding a few drops of Lavender Essential Oil and a teaspoon of witch hazel to the cotton and pressing it onto the irritated area could calm the misery in a hurry.
A wonderful choice would be Aloe Vera Gel because it is cooling and helps to reduce redness and inflammation. It also has antibacterial properties to help prevent infection and heal the skin.

Staying Safe While Making Essential Oil Crafts With The Kids
First things first, let’s talk safety. When using Essential Oils with kids, you have to ensure that you are using kid-safe oils.
Citrus oils are a great choice because they are safe for children but also encourage feelings of cheer and happiness.
One of our favorites is REVIVE’s Citrus Delight. This is a blend of citrus and vanilla that can help you feel refreshed and uplifted.
There are a few other gentle oils you could consider using, such as:
Lavender
Geranium
Cedarwood
Marjoram
Spruce
Pine
Another appropriate option could be REVIVE’s Stress Easy which is kid-safe, but also a super calming blend that may be very helpful right now.
No matter which you end up going with, the collection of organic essential oils we offer here at Revive is as good as you’ll find – so once you’ve picked your project, head over to the site for all your essentials!
First, let’s talk carrier oils and other safety tips.
Don’t Forget Your Carrier Oils!
The next thing you want to remember is to always take care to dilute your essential oil when children are using them. As you know, they are very potent and can be harsh for a little one.
Don’t allow your younger kids to handle the bottle to add the drops to your essential oil project; instead, let the child count them as you add the oil to the recipe.
In addition, no matter what their age, it is recommended that the Essential Oil be added to the carrier oil before handling it with your hands/skin.
Some of our favorite carrier oils are tea tree oil, fractionated coconut oil, or jojoba oil. The perfect carrier for you will definitely depend on what you’re crafting – so do your research, or follow the recipes we share later on carefully!
Also, you should protect the surface that you are working on with a barrier of some sort; a disposable plastic tablecloth or a large tray should work just fine.
Now that we’ve got the safety precautions out of the way, let’s get to the good part. Below, you will find 3 DIY projects that are appropriate for different age groups.
Let the older kids get creative by making up their own blends to use in the recipe. So. go gather up your supplies and have fun!

Who doesn’t love a bath? Feeling weightless in a giant tub of warm water can be both relaxing and refreshing.
Taking a bath is a wonderful way to help shut out the world around you and just focus on some much-needed alone time, but most people look for ways to enhance this experience.
Sometimes that’s adding bubbles, a bath bomb, lighting some candles – or our personal favorite, adding a few drops of essential oil!
Using essential oils during a bath can enhance the experience by making it even more restorative. But how do you go about this?
That’s where we come in. Today, we’re going to teach you everything you need to know about creating an essential oil blend for your next bathtime – whether it’s for you or your kids!
We’ll share some carrier oil & essential oil options we recommend, along with a few essential oil recipes you can try for yourself. Let’s dive right in!
How To Use Essential Oils In Bath
Using essential oils in the bath is just as simple as using any other product you might have added in the past – Epsom salts, bubbles, you name it. It’s just a matter of determining what recipe you want to use!
This will come down to what you’re looking to get out of the bath – we’ll explain how your specific essential oils and carrier oil factor into that now. Then at the end, we’ll share some of our favorite recipes you can give a try yourself!
One key takeaway we want you to have is that essential oils are fat-soluble and need to be mixed with a carrier before adding to water or they will not disperse correctly. Let’s take a look at some of our favorite carrier oil options.
Which Carrier Oil Should I Use For My Bath Recipe?
When choosing a carrier for your essential oils, you often want to look at your goal. In a bath, you might be wanting to get clean, moisturized, or even attain pain relief.
What you decide to dilute with can also help your outcome. Unscented soap or bubble bath is a great option when you are just looking to foam up a bit and wash the dirt away.
Adding about 5-7 drops of essential oil to 1 tablespoon of soap is safe for children and 10-15 drops for adults.
If you are looking more for replenishing moisture, using a vegetable or seed oil is a great option. Use the same ratio as the soap, but add the essential oils to Sweet Almond Oil or Grapeseed Oil.
After mixing the Essential Oils in with the soap or oil pour it into the stream from the faucet as the bath fills. This will help it all disperse into the water.
If you plan on using salts like Epsom or Sea Salt, you should know that the salts alone do not solubilize the Essential Oils.
It is recommended that you use soap or a carrier oil first and then add your salts to that mixture. This is a great idea for inflammation as salts can be great for calming body aches.
When using Epsom Salts along with an anti-inflammatory oil blend, you can get amazing relief from pain.
Oftentimes, pre-made bath bombs can be a good option as well. Just make sure that they are made utilizing a carrier oil and not just baking soda or cornstarch.
Which Essential Oils Should I Use In The Bath?
Almost any Essential Oils can be used in a bath if you do it the safe way, but some oils are much more irritating to the skin than others. “Hot” oils are not usually the best idea for bathing as they can be harsher and more sensitizing.
This includes Essential Oils like Cinnamon, Clove, or Thyme. If you do choose to use any of these, make sure it’s in a really low dilution. If you plan on using a blend like Protect in the bath to guard against a pending cold, it might be best to only use about 3-5 drops of the blend in your carrier.
For aches and pains, soaking in a tub with anti-inflammatory Essential Oils is a great idea for relieving discomfort caused by sore muscles, backaches, or even joint pain.
One of REVIVE’s absolute favorites for pain is our Sore No More Blend. This cooling and soothing synergy are perfect for taming inflammation.
There are also many single oils that you could use to create your own soreness-busting essential oil blend. Eucalyptus, Ginger, Chamomile, Peppermint, or Thyme are good options to utilize when making your pain-relieving bath blend.
If relaxation is what you seek, several Essential Oils could benefit you while bathing. Calming oils like Lavender, Frankincense, Tangerine, or Cedarwood can be blended or added as single oils to encourage an extra boost of stress relief.
Alternatively, you could use one of REVIVE’s synergy blends that are already created for you. A great money-saving set you could purchase called Worry-Free includes 3 uber relaxing oils. Check out this DIY recipe below.

To be honest, stress-reducing essential oils are always in demand. That is why REVIVE offers so many options for you.
One of our absolute favorites, Stress Easy, is actually our version of Young Living’s Stress Away. This soothing blend of Essential Oils contains relaxing oils like Lavender essential oil and Cedarwood essential oil with heart-warming essential oils like Vanilla and Ocotea. It is perfect for easing anxious feelings and encouraging a sense of calm.
Another blend that we love is REVIVE’s Stress Relief. This is a great essential oil synergy to use when you need to ease your body along with your mind. This essential oil makes a great addition to a bath or massage.
Lastly, if you are on the go, Anxiety Ease Roll-on is a great option to bring with you. This essential oil roller can easily be tucked in your pocket or purse and is ready for use when in need of some balance. Simply roll onto pulse points and inhale deeply to help alleviate tension.
Pure Essential Oils That Can Help With Stress And Anxiety
These synergy blends are great – but they’re just one way you can use essential oils for stress and anxiety. There are pure essential oils we recommend you incorporate into your wellness regimen. From bergamot essential oil to ylang ylang essential oils, let’s take a look at all the options.
This sharp citrus oil is a powerhouse when it comes to stress relief. Known to be both a calming and uplifting essential oil, Bergamot can help drive away anxious feelings while boosting your spirits. This Essential Oil is incredibly versatile and smells amazing in so many blends, making it a great addition to your DIY stress-busting creation.
Physically, Bergamot essential oil may help balance the nervous system, regulate heart rate, and lower blood pressure. This means that your mental state will be improved because your physical state is steady.
Bergamot is a top note and blends well with Lavender, Clary Sage, Ylang Ylang, Patchouli, Coriander, and other citrus essential oils just to name a few. Please take care when wearing topically as it is phototoxic and will make your skin sensitive to the sun.
Do not get Clary Sage confused with the Sage that grows in your garden, this variety is not used for cooking. Clary Sage is a medicinal herb that has been used for centuries in skin care and perfumes. This tea-like scent is amazing for easing anxiety and boosting your mood.
Clary Sage is a very balancing oil that calms irritability and is helpful for women’s monthly issues. The high linalyl acetate content of this essential oil has shown in studies to promote calm and relaxation. Clary Sage is a middle note that blends well with citrus essential oils, geranium, jasmine, cedarwood, cardamom, among many others.
This sweet floral essential oil was traditionally used for romance in Indonesia. Make no mistake, though – there is a lot more to this essential oil than just love.
Ylang Ylang essential oil is known to calm blood pressure and heart palpitations, encouraging our body and mind to slow down. Studies have shown that the use of Ylang Ylang Essential Oil in stressful situations can reverse anxiety behaviors.
Adding just a drop of this potent scent to a de-stressing essential oil blend is a great option. This essential oil blends very well with other florals.
This warm and deep essential oil might be pricey, but is worth every penny! Sandalwood is good for soothing agitation, calming emotions, and easing anxious nerves. With its strong sedative properties, Sandalwood essential oil is a classic for enhancing meditation.
A little goes a long way with this essential oil, and because it is very thick, it may work better for topical applications, rather than a diffuser. Just be sure to pair with a carrier oil. This essential oil blends well with other woodsy oils, citrus oils, and some florals like Palmarosa or Rose.
One of the many things that makes Frankincense an astonishing essential oil is its power to calm and ground. Traditionally, Frankincense was used in the church. This is because it helps relax our breathing, causing us to take deeper, purer breaths.
As you can imagine, this is very helpful when experiencing anxiety. Frankincense essential oil is also comforting when dealing with grief. It may even help discourage impending fears. This woody base essential oil goes well with Orange, Sandalwood, Cedarwood, Spruce, and so much more.

How To Use Essential Oils For Stress and Anxiety Relief
Now that you know our favorite essential oil blends for stress or anxiety, let’s talk about actually using them. Sure, you can just diffuse essential oils around your home or office to reap their benefits. But actually coming up with a plan to incorporate them into your life can pay dividends.
The CDC recommends eating well-balanced meals, exercising, getting good sleep, and doing activities you enjoy to help eliminate stress and anxiety. Look to eliminate sources of stress. If you have people in your life that stress you out, distance yourself. The same goes for work – if you’re the victim of a toxic workplace causing stress and anxiety, make an occupational change. This in itself can be stressful, but it gets better once you take the leap. Trust us – we’ve been there.
Another very helpful addition to your life is learning how to be mindful of your feelings. Understanding that you are stressed or overwhelmed can encourage you to take the next steps of fighting back against those negative feelings and consciously doing what you can to make it better.
One of the greatest things about Aromatherapy is that it is a complementary therapy. This means that adding Essential Oils to your current routine is both safe and increasingly helpful. For example, you can diffuse the stress-relieving essential oils that we listed above during meditation. This can deepen your spiritual connection.
Or, consider using anxiety-busting essential oils in a hot bath to boost your relaxation. Because essential oil can be absorbed topically, this is another great approach to leveraging the calming power of essential oils.
There are so many different ways you can incorporate essential oil into your mental wellness regimen. However you approach it, one thing is for sure – you need to make sure you’re using 100% therapeutic essential oils. And we know just the place to find them.

How To Make Your Own DIY Essential Oils Moisturizer
During the winter months, the mixture of cold, crisp air and all the preventative hand washing can really make your skin dry, rough, or even cracked. It’s important to retain moisture for the sake of comfort, but also to maintain a strong skin structure that keeps germs from entering damaged areas.
You might be thinking about picking up a lotion from the drugstore when you are shopping, but did you ever take the time to read the ingredients in there? You probably can’t even pronounce half of them let alone know what they are. Here’s a little hint… some of them are toxic!
Phthalates, parabens, and petrochemicals, oh my! How can these be good for your dry skin? Let’s do this the safe way: skip the drugstore and make your own DIY essential oil moisturizing product.
There are a few incredible Essential Oils that can be added to your DIY moisturizer to further nourish your skin. These oils are calming, anti-inflammatory, and can even encourage cell regeneration. Adding a few drops of these skin-loving oils to specific carrier oils may help boost the healing powers of the moisturizer you are using.
There are basically 3 different types of moisturizers that you can create based on your needs. and in this article, we’ll cover them all. Let’s start with the case for using essential oil as a moisturizer!
Can I Use Essential Oils As A Moisturizer?
Yes – you can use essential oils as a moisturizer! In fact, when made correctly, there are a few DIY blends that offer incredible moisturizing properties. There are certain versions you can concoct for certain skin conditions. Or, you can just use essential oil to moisturize naturally dry skin during those winter months.
Whatever the case, we’re going to help you understand when and how to use essential oil as a moisturizer.
The base part of your moisturizer is determined by what you are trying to achieve. Do you need to fully saturate your skin and let it cover you and just soak in? Or are you looking for a thick spot treatment that will heal and protect the one really bad area? We’ll begin by examining the different carrier oil options you can use.
Start By Choosing The Carrier For Your Essential Oil Moisturizing Blend
The three main types of “carriers” you have to choose from when creating a moisturizer from essential oils. They are nut/seed oil, lotion, or a balm/salve. But, which one is right for you?
Nut or Seed Oil
Using a rich carrier oil as your main ingredient is great for covering a large area or really drenching the skin. It is also a wonderful option for locking in hydration right out of the shower. They are full of vitamins, antioxidants, and fatty acids. Simply adding your essential oils of choice to your carrier oil and spreading the mixture onto the skin will soothe the dryness.
Jojoba Oil mimics skin’s sebum and soaks in quickly making this a good choice for hands because it won’t leave them greasy. Almond Oil is an emollient and contains high levels of vitamin E. It’s nourishing and conditioning making it great for very dry skin. Later on, we’ll share a recipe that features Jojoba oil and sweet almond oil – because these are our favorites.
But, you have other options, too. Avocado oil is a mega antioxidant that is loaded with omega 3 fatty acids. It is a great anti-inflammatory making it good for healing skin. Other options include coconut oil or argan oil.
Lotion
An obvious option for dry skin is an unscented, natural lotion. This is a perfect choice for moisturizing your skin for a few reasons.
The key to picking a lotion, though, is making sure it is not full of unwanted chemicals or harmful ingredients. Mixing essential oils into the softening lotion is a great way to up the restorative properties of the lotion. You only need about 1-2% dilution of Essential Oils to get the desired effects.
Balm or Salve
Much thicker and sturdier in nature, a balm or salve is usually wax-based and stays in place for a while providing a protective layer. This is a superb option for spot treatment. Cuticles, eczema, rough patches, and elbows are places that may need a little more healing power and longer-term coverage to keep it from getting worse.
What Essential Oil Can I Add To Moisturizer?
Now – we’re going to talk about the essential oil component of your homemade moisturizer. Just like with your carrier oil, the specific essential oil you choose will depend on what specific benefits you’re looking to attain.
Do you have naturally oily skin? If so, the products you choose will differ from someone with super dry skin. Are you looking for moisturization, or do you have a flare-up that you’re looking to calm down? We’ll cover specific recommendations below.
Lavender
Of course, you know that Lavender is calming, but this includes the skin and not just the mind. It is a very restorative oil that can help soothe irritated or even burned skin and promote healing. Lavender Essential Oil is also very gentle and a great oil for young and old.
Chamomile
This incredible Essential Oil is a great anti-inflammatory. This means that when your hands are chapped and inflamed from being very dry, it can help calm the swelling. It is also wonderful for people with sensitive skin.
Geranium
This floral oil is perfect for balancing the skin’s sebum allowing your body to produce the correct amount of oil it needs. It is good for easing irritation and may prevent scars from forming.
Frankincense
The king of oils is useful for so many things, but we absolutely love it for skin applications. It is known to help improve cellular function and has rejuvenating effects.
Each variation of Frankincense essential oil is good for skin, but Boswellia frereana is an extra powerful skin healer, so we also recommend our Frankincense King Essential Oil Blend.
DIY Soothing Essential Oil Moisturizer Blend
Now, using these oils above here is a DIY essential oil moisturizer blend you can try for yourself. All of these essential oils are available right here at revive, along with the carrier oils you need as well. Here are the ingredients:
In a glass bowl, mix all the ingredients well. Use a funnel to pour the mixture into the bottle, then place the cap on. Apply liberally to dry skin as needed. This recipe is great for post-shower/bath. When applying to hands, allow the oil to sink in before using them.
Optional: Use ½ oz of Rosehip Seed Oil and 1 ½ oz Sweet Almond Oil for an added boost in cell regeneration (great for mature skin).

Unfortunately, the opportunity to wash our hands is not always there. So in the meantime, you can use a hand sanitizer.

The Most Calming Essential Oil Blends To Help You Relax
One of the hardest things to do in this day and age is relax at the end of a long, hard day. Human beings are under constant pressure to achieve more – even if we’ve seemingly done it all. This inability to relax and calm ourselves can keep our heads reeling and prevent us from being able to settle down easily.
The good news is that by adding Essential Oils to your daily routine, you can naturally promote relaxation and encourage your mind and body to let go of tension and worry. Sound too good to be true? It’s not!
Aromatherapy is one of the fastest and easiest ways to promote an improved state of being. We’ll explain the science behind how it works in just a moment. Then, we’ll share the best calming essential oils, along with a few calming essential oil blends that promote relaxation. We’ll even explain the best way to use a calming essential oil blend!
Do Calming Essential Oils Really Work?
Long story short, yes – calming essential oils will help you relax. Whether you wake up anxious or come home from a long, stressful day – the power of essential oil is here to help.
Essential Oils travel through the olfactory and into the limbic system. This is the area that tells your body how to react to a certain situation. When inhaled, the chemical compounds in the oils can alter your mood. In addition, there are certain Essential Oils that are adaptogenic and can give your body exactly what it needs at that moment.
We’ll share exactly which essential oils we recommend to you soon enough. Before that, let’s get into the science behind choosing a calming essential oil.
So how do you know what essential oils to use?
You don’t want to use just any essential oil in your cabinet. There are certain types of essential oils that work best for promoting a sense of calm.
The key to navigating sedating Essential Oils is to choose the essential oils that are high in sesquiterpenes or esters. These essential oils have the ability to communicate with your brain and promote a feeling of peace and calming. Also, you could choose from the short list of oils that are adaptogenic and let your nervous system balance out on its own.
Keep Things Simple – Stick With A Calming Essential Oil Blend By Revive!
An easy go-to for relaxation could be one of REVIVE’s pre-mixed blends. These synergies are expertly created for use without having to make your own. Stress Easy Essential Oil Blend is a soft and soothing scent that you should definitely use when in need of a little R&R. It contains stress relieving oils including Lavender, Copaiba, Ocotea, Vanilla and more.
Calm Essential Oil Blend is a great blend to help you unwind. Some of the oils used are Ho Wood, Ylang Ylang, and Sweet Marjoram. REVIVE really takes the guesswork out of selecting calming oils with these blends, so make sure you check them out.
But if you’re looking for other calming essential oils – pure essential oils, that is – we’ve got some recommendations for you.
This deep and woody base oil is extremely calming. Just the scent of this Essential Oil can help you feel instantly grounded. Cedarwood is rich in sesquiterpenes and chemically aids the brain in reducing nervous tension and anxiety. This oil is also great for giving us a sense of strength which can be truly important when needing to unwind. Adding Cedarwood to a relaxation blend will anchor the scent and give a nice stable undertone.
Using Clary Sage Oil when you are in need of settling down is like hitting the restart button. This herbal and earthy scent contains both esters and sesquiterpenes making it a rock star of relaxation. Clary Sage has the ability to help soothe irritability, calm mood swings, and even lower blood pressure. It is also very helpful during “that time of the month.” This oil is a great middle note that helps balance out a blend and balance out your mind.
This Italian citrus fruit is amazing for the central nervous system. It has shown to ease anxiety, bring peace of mind, and even fight depression. Bergamot Oil is bright and uplifting without being overbearing. This Essential Oil is complementary to so many blends adding a boost to both the smell and your attitude.
We would venture to guess that you have used Chamomile tea to help you sleep, and the Essential Oil counterpart of Chamomile is just as calming. This safe and gentle oil is a great choice for dealing with overstimulated children. The soft scent of Chamomile may help reduce mental chatter and soothe excess worry. It is even known to aid in the reduction of feelings of panic. Using this oil in a blend is sure to bring some sedative effects.
This is an oil you may not have heard of, but let us tell you it’s a must have for relaxation! Copaiba is a resinous oil that has been used as natural medicine in Brazil for thousands of years. It is a powerful anti-inflammatory oil, so it often gets overlooked at how useful it can be when it comes to stress relief. It is great for soothing frazzled nerves and creating a calming atmosphere. Adding this Essential Oil to your relaxing blend will definitely help you decompress.
Okay, okay, you knew this was coming. But yes, of course Lavender made the list of Essential Oils that are great for relaxation. This floral scent is incredible for achieving balance and putting you in the state of being that your body needs. Lavender Oil does contain esters and is naturally calming, but it also has the ability to create homeostasis. When in need of relaxation, Lavender can reduce your heart rate, lower blood pressure, and tame anxiety. But if someone were fighting feelings of depression, it may be helpful in creating uplifting feelings and encouraging deeper breaths.
Want to create your very own calming essential oils blend? We have a few awesome recipes you can try out yourself. Let’s start with the “chill out blend” – one of our personal favorites.
Now that you know which essential oils to use, how do you use them?
Our recommendation is to use these in an essential oil diffuser. This will not only help you calm down and relax at the end of the day, but it will also fill your space with a delicious, satisfying fragrance. There are so many essential oil diffuser benefits we even wrote a complete guide discussing them!
If you’d like, you can also apply these essential oils topically. To do this, though, you’ll need a carrier oil to dilute the pure essential oil. One carrier oil option worth considering is sweet almond oil – but you can also try jojoba, argan, castor, and many more.
No matter how you use essential oils, you’ll be glad you took a chance on these calming essential oil blends. Ready to get started?

Have you ever heard of the ORAC Scale? The Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity system was developed by the USDA and Tufts University to measure antioxidant ratings.
Antioxidants are incredibly helpful in the world we live in because they can stop the damage caused by free radicals in our environment.
Clove Essential Oil is the highest-scoring oil on this scale. Hitting 1,078,700, this oil is a powerhouse antioxidant! This means that Clove is great for tackling bacteria and mold.
It has been shown in studies that Clove can kill mold spores. When used correctly, you can eliminate mold from the area and help keep it from coming back.
Do you know that yummy spice that reminds you of your favorite pizza? Well, it turns out that Oregano, as an Essential Oil, is an amazing oil for killing fungus and bacteria.
In fact, Oregano Essential Oil is often used as a natural antibiotic. One component of Oregano oil, Carvacrol has recently been used to naturally elongate the shelf life of fresh food because it prevents the growth of microorganisms.

Struggling with a nasty, musty mildew outbreak in your home or office? No need to stress too much – you can fight mold with essential oils!
Sure, you could use traditional cleaning products like bleach or Clorox wipes – but these come with problems of their own. And let’s be real – they aren’t the most effective from an antimicrobial standpoint!
Fortunately, there are natural ways to clean and even kill mold in your home. Mold can lead to serious issues in sensitive people including respiratory problems, cough, skin rashes, and asthma attacks. Plus, it makes your house look dirty.
But we’re here today to help you discover how essential oils can aid you in your battle against mold and mildew. We’ll cover exactly how effective essential oils are at fighting mold, and why we recommend them.
Then – we’ll share the top essential oils to gather for your cleaning session!
Can You Really Use Essential Oils For Mold?
Yes – many times, you can use essential oils for mold management. You’ll want to be very careful though because they won’t work 100% of the time – and in some cases, they really aren’t even worth trying. Let us explain what we mean.
If you have a huge mold outbreak in the structure of your home – you’re better off calling a professional. These spores can cause serious damage, and when the risk to your health is in question, we do not advise you to use essential oil.
But with that said – you can definitely get rid of mold with essential oils in some cases. Let’s say you have a splotch in your fridge from some old veggies, for example.
In this case, using a dash of tea tree oil or oregano will not only eliminate any active spores and stop growth – they will leave behind a delightful, aromatic scent in place of that funky mildew odor.
We’ll explain exactly which oils you should use, and how you should use them, momentarily. We first want to cover why using these products may be more advantageous than that bleach in your cupboard.
Why Use Essential Oils For Mold Instead Of Traditional Cleaning Products?
Cleaning is a chore that most of us do not enjoy. But add in those stinky, harsh conventional cleaners and it becomes downright awful.
Many people turn to bleach to kill mold, but bleach is often worse for your respiratory system. In addition, bleach has been shown to only kill mold, but not prevent it.
Certain Essential Oils are incredible at fighting and preventing mold. These oils help destroy bacteria and mildew and continue to aid in stopping new growth. The key is using the right ones – because not just any essential oils will do! That’s what we’re here to discuss today.
Can You Use Essential Oils To Get Rid Of Mold & Mildew In Drywall Or Your Foundation?
One important thing to note is that the only way to permanently remove mold from drywall is to remove the piece and replace it with a new one.
Certain jobs are best left to the professionals, especially when it comes to something dangerous like mold and mildew. You should seriously consider your safety before using essential oils to try and get rid of mold – is it a lost cause?
But assuming you just have a grimy refrigerator or cabinet, you can certainly turn to essential oils in your battle against these spores.
As you know, though, the right products will be key in whether or not you’re able to get results. So, without any further ado, let’s get into the top essential oils for mold and mildew management!
How To Actually Use These Essential Oils In The Battle Against Mold
Ok, now you know which essential oils to use when you scrub away that mold – but how do you actually use them?
When you use essential oils for yourself, you typically inhale or apply them topically. But if you’re using them to clean, what’s the best practice?
As you probably guessed, you’re going to want to make a concoction using these oils and spray or scrub the problem area. We’ll start off with a mildew prevention spray we’ve personally used with great success.

½ Cup White Vinegar

Mold Busting Scrub
1 Glass Jar
1 Cup Baking Soda
4 Drops Clove Essential Oil
4 Drops Cinnamon Essential Oil
Soapy Water and a Sponge
Put the Baking Soda into the glass jar and mix in the Essential Oils; they will not dissolve all the way and that is okay.
Let the oils soak in for about 10-20 minutes. Sprinkle the mix onto the moldy surface and let sit for 5 minutes.
Soak your sponge in the warm soapy water and scrub the surface using as much elbow grease as you’ve got to get rid of that mold. Re-wet the sponge as needed, then rinse the area with warm water.

Can Essential Oils Really Contribute To An Uplifting Mood?
You might be a bit skeptical about using essential oil for an uplifting mood. Is it really possible that these little extractions can change your mindset and alter your state?
Yes – it is not just entirely possible, but one of the most natural, holistic ways you can uplift your mood and feel better mentally. There are some specific essential oils families we recommend using – which we will cover shortly. Let’s first look at some specific blends you can give a try if you find yourself constantly down in the dumps.
Citrus Delight is a refreshing blend that lifts your mood and even offers some energy to aid in getting you through the day. As the name implies, it has many mood-improving citrus oils, but also comes through with a warm sweetness of Vanilla, which is great for fighting stress.
Fantastic Blend is a bright, floral scent that promotes feelings of happiness and makes you feel, well… Fantastic! There are also specific essential oils that offer incredible mood uplifting effects, including clary sage essential oil and peppermint essential oil.
As you can see, certain essential oil blends are fully capable of boosting your mood. Let’s look at some specific essential oil families that you can always turn to when you need a little boost.
What Are The Most Uplifting Essential Oils To Put Me In A Better Mood?
There are a few specific types of essential oil that are well known for their mood uplifting properties. Each of these “types” or “families” has a multitude of essential oils that fall under them and can be used in your efforts to uplift your mood.
Let’s start off with the citrus family – as these particular essential oils have some of the most powerful mood-boosting properties.
Citrus Essential Oils
Essential Oils that come from citrus fruits have an uncanny ability to make you smile. Breathing in these fresh, tangy scents can actually increase your serotonin levels (the happy chemical).
They are also known to help reduce stress levels, thus helping you feel better emotionally. Lemon Essential Oil is known to aid in increasing mental alertness and promoting a positive outlook.
Grapefruit Oil is an amazingly cheerful scent that brightens your day with just one sniff. And the lesser-known Yuzu Essential Oil that comes from the zesty Asian fruit, is great for soothing the nerves while supporting a joyful heart.
Floral Essential Oils
You know the phrase, “Stop and smell the roses?” Well, this can actually be really great advice when you are not in the best mood. Some flowers are very beneficial for helping you improve your mood.
Jasmine is an exotic flower that is well-loved in many parts of the world because it smells amazing. But it also has the ability to positively impact your mood. Studies have shown Jasmine Oil to be effective in helping relieve depression symptoms.
Geranium Essential Oil is a highly scented oil that has shown to be effective in reducing anxiety (even during labor), and promotes emotional balance. And, of course, Lavender. This popular Essential Oil is great for calming and soothing of all kinds.
When used to help stabilize emotions, Lavender Essential Oil can aid in ridding stress, helping you feel uplifted and not so down.
Evergreen Essential Oils
You may have noticed that when you hike through the woods, you come out feeling great. It’s not just the exercise and fresh air (of course, those are amazing too), but it is also from inhaling those incredible evergreens.
These large, fragrant trees are exceptionally good for boosting your spirits. Fir oils, including Balsam, Douglas, and Siberian, can really help soothe anxious feelings and encourage a sense of emotional steadiness.
Black Spruce Essential Oil is refreshing and elevating. This stimulating scent calms frazzled nerves and can help you to get out of your afternoon slump. Finally, Pine Oil is wonderful for fighting fatigue and can even help eliminate grief.
The Best DIY Diffuser Blend Recipes For An Uplifted Mood
Essential oils are not a cure and do not replace proper medical care when needed for extreme cases of depression.
But, they can be beneficial when you are feeling low and need a little boost. If you’re struggling to motivate yourself to start the day, or get out and meet up with some friends – diffusing the right essential oil blend can prove incredibly helpful.
Here are a few diffuser blends to try next time you need a little emotional pick me up. As always, we recommend shopping for your essential oil at Revive to ensure you get 100% therapeutic-grade essential oil.
Keep in mind that these essential oils we’ve recommended are to be used with an aromatherapy diffuser. If you want to use these oils topically for an energizing, uplifting massage – you’ll want to use a carrier oil to dilute them to a safe level.

The Best Essential Oils For Acne Prevention & Treatment
One of the best parts about using Essential Oils is that they are a great natural alternative to medication in many mild cases.
This includes use on skin. These therapeutic oils contain properties that are anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, and anti-fungal.
By choosing the correct oils for your ailment, you can easily create your own blend to help fight pimples and acne, and you may even be able to improve your oily skin!
Zits are such a bummer. Whether they are a result of stress, environment, or hormones… when they show up, you just want them gone!
A good daily routine to help prevent acne is the best way to start. Eating a healthy diet and making sure you are getting all the right vitamins and minerals is your foundation.
Then, you should include a proper cleansing morning and night to help keep your face clean and balanced. A great recipe that includes other natural ingredients, as well as the right oils for acne-prone skin, can be helpful with preventing breakouts.
Can You Really Use Essential Oils For Acne?
You’ve tried the most abrasive skin cleansers on the market, you’ve changed your diet – maybe you’ve even visited your dermatologist and gotten prescription creams, pills, and treatment.
Yet – you still struggle with acne. Be it the occasional breakout or a new zit every day, there is no doubt that this is one of the most soul-crushing, embarrassing conditions you can deal with.
The good news is that most of the time, acne will just be a temporary time in your life. Nobody deals with it forever. However – it doesn’t make it any less miserable when you end up staying home instead of going out all due to the condition of your skin.
Thankfully, you may be able to rely on a tool you haven’t tried yet – essential oils for acne.
That’s right – many essential oils offer anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties that can fend off acne and restore your skin to its youthful glow. The moisturization they offer is just icing on the cake!
Which Essential Oils Should You Use For Acne?
Ok, now that you know the capabilities essential oil has in your fight against acne – which ones should you use? You may already have heard products like tea tree oil or lavender get tosses around – but what else can you bring to the battle?
When in doubt, get back to the basics of what specific essential oil products offer. When it comes to your skincare routine, you’ll never make a bad choice by seeking out essential oil products that offer the following properties:
Moisturization
Antiinflammation
Antibacterial/Antimicrobial
As it turns out – there are actually quite a few essential oils that contain these properties which you can rely on for your own skincare routine.
We’re going to share two recipes with you today: an essential oil cleanser for acne along with an essential oil spot treatment recipe. We recommend making both so you have them on hand, and pimples won’t stand a chance!
A Daily Essential Oil Cleanser For Acne-Prone Skin
The parts that make up this cleanser are gentle but effective. Castile Soap is a natural coconut-based soap that is great for all skin types, but it can be very thick on its own.
Adding in Water tones it down a bit and lets this recipe become a foaming soap. Lavender Essential Oil has disinfectant properties and reduces inflammation.
Lemongrass Oil is a great astringent that works well for toning skin. And Sandalwood Essential Oil has proven to control breakouts while locking in moisture.
How To Mix The Essential Oils To Create Your Cleanser
Mix these Essential Oils with soap, then add in water. Pour the concoction into a bottle and screw the top on.
Every day, you can now wash your face with warm water in the morning and night to help balance your skin’s sebum, remove acne-causing bacteria, and prevent pimples.
To further the shelf life of this cleanser, you can add a natural preservative like Optiphen to the soap before adding water into the recipe.
DIY Zit Stopper – Use This Recipe To Stop Zits As They Form!
So, you have been doing your best with cleansing regularly, but then you feel it. That little tingle and twinge… here comes a pimple.
If you can get to it right away, the recipe below will aid in keeping it from turning into a full-blown zit. Make up this blend ahead of time so you can attack the problem before it has the opportunity to get worse. Here are the ingredients you’ll need:
Add the Essential Oils to the Aloe and mix well. Then stir in the Witch Hazel until blended in thoroughly.
Use a funnel to pour this mixture into the bottle and top it with a roller and cap. Apply the instant you begin to feel a blemish beginning. To extend the shelf life, keep it in the refrigerator.
Why Does This Essential Oil Cleanser Work So Well?
This recipe contains some incredible ingredients that help stop that pimple in its path. Aloe Vera Gel is a wonderfully calming constituent that reduces skin inflammation. Witch Hazel is an amazing astringent that can help prevent acne-causing bacteria from invading your skin.
As for the Essential Oils used in this recipe, you’ve got Lavender Essential Oil because of its ability to soothe and calm. And of course, the best anti-bacterial oil, Tea Tree. This superstar ingredient is known for its natural power to ward off acne-causing bacteria while also offering anti-inflammatory benefits.
Always Be Careful About Dosing Your Essential Oil Treatment!
*A word of warning about Tea Tree Essential Oil… fight the urge to use more than recommended. Oftentimes, people will think that if an oil is suggested for a therapeutic purpose, then it would work even better if you use it more.
This is not true! Less is more when it comes to essential oils, especially Tea Tree. Large amounts of Tea Tree oil can desensitize your skin and often dry it out or even burn it! So please, stick to the safe zone when it comes to this oil.
Final Thoughts On Using Essential Oils For Acne
Now, you are well aware of the capabilities essential oil has when it comes to fighting breakouts and acne in general. All that’s left to do at this point is pick your favorites and get to blending your recipes!
With both of these acne-fighting recipes in your skincare arsenal, you won’t have to stress about the condition of your skin on your next date night or even throughout your everyday life at school or work.
But to really unlock all the benefits essential oil has to offer in terms of skincare, you need the best oils – 100% organic, therapeutic grade. Fortunately, that’s all we offer here at Revive.
Get to shopping and kick acne to the curb for good – it’s time to regain your self-confidence and feel comfortable in your own skin again.
You’ve tried everything – starving yourself and cutting out your favorite snacks, hitting the gym in the mornings followed by an evening jog, and perhaps you’ve even tried diet pills or other sketchy practices.
But has the solution to your weight-loss woes been right under your nose (in your diffuser) this whole time? Can essential oils help with weight loss?
The answer is yes – these oils can work, but only if you do too!
We’ll explain what exactly we mean by this, and help you discover the power essential oil may have in your weight loss journey. Then, we’ll share our favorite picks for oils that can aid you in your efforts to shed off some pounds. Let’s get started!
Can You Really Use Essential Oil For Weight Loss?
If you are like the rest of us, your weight loss journey fluctuates from time to time. You’ll do really great for a while, fall off the wagon for a bit, before ultimately putting your foot down and deciding to get back on the horse and give it a more serious effort.
Is there a way you can use your favorite essential oils for weight loss? Or is it too good to be true?
The answer is a bit convoluted. You aren’t going to ingest your essential oils and magically watch your waist shrink as the pounds melt off – nothing is ever that simple. Anything claiming to be a magic fix or hack is usually something worth avoiding.
But, there is no doubt that essential oils provide all sorts of therapeutic benefits. A few noteworthy effects include antiinflammation, enhanced digestion, increased energy, and craving reduction.
As you can surmise – all of these effects will be very beneficial in your weight loss journey. Of course, this is all provided you actually do the work to lose weight. That means taking a look at your diet and adjusting as needed while regularly exercising.
What Are The Best Essential Oils To Help You Lose Weight?
Like we discussed above, these essential oils aren’t going to be the secret you’ve been missing out on to help you regain your 20-year-old figure. But – make no mistake – certain oils will definitely aid you in your weight loss journey.
We’ll break this section up into essential oil recommendations for energy, digestion, and appetite suppression.
Incorporating all these oils into your existing regimen will enhance your ability to get the work done, recover from it effectively, and stay on top of your diet. Let’s start with some essential oil recommendations that can help energize you and get you in the gym or outside!
Essential Oils To Increase Your Energy Levels
A key part of your weight loss journey is being more active. Taking a daily walk, working out at the gym, or even just doing some sit-ups in your living room takes energy to get started.
To get the boost you need, you can inhale some essential oils before you begin your exercise. Lemon Essential Oil is amazing for uplifting your spirits, putting you in a positive mood, and helping you feel refreshed and ready to go.
Peppermint Essential Oil is great for fighting fatigue and making you feel invigorated. Wild Orange Essential Oil is a bolder and brighter orange scent that can help boost energy levels and improve your mindset.
It is totally normal for us to feel hungry. Having an appetite is part of our survival as humans. When we were hunters and gatherers, we needed that hunger to get us out there to find food to live. But nowadays it’s so easy to get food whenever we want it. There’s fast food on every corner and chips in every pantry. So, what can we do to fight that desire to snack all day long?
Studies have shown that our sense of smell increases when we are hungry; why not use this to our advantage?
By utilizing neutral scents that help cleanse our pallets and reduce our cravings, we can fight that urge to eat between meals and possibly reduce how much we eat.
The smell of Essential Oils goes directly to the hypothalamus which is the part of our brain that tells us we are full. If we trick this part of our brain by smelling these oils, we may be able to hold off on our snacking.
Grapefruit Essential Oil is very beneficial for controlling appetite because the scent of this oil actually activates an enzyme that helps break down fat in your body. It is also a great detoxifier and is supportive to your metabolism.
Fennel Oil is a natural appetite suppressant that has been shown in studies to help reduce caloric intake when sniffed before meals. Bergamot Essential Oil is a mega stress buster.
Components of this oil can reduce Cortisol levels which helps curb stress eating and may lessen weight gain in the stomach area.
Put all essential oils into the roller bottle then fill the rest of the way with fractionated coconut oil and place the top on. Apply to the chest during the times of day you are most prone to snacking.
*Take care when going in the sun after applying this blend. These citrus oils are photosensitive and can cause sunburn.
Essential Oils To Enhance Digestion
When digestion is not on point, your whole body can suffer. Obviously, you feel better when you are properly digesting your food and are staying regular.
But, did you ever think about the fact that your body cannot eliminate waste and absorb nutrients effectively?
If this is happening, it can slow your metabolism and make it much harder to lose weight. Drinking plenty of water and making sure that you aren’t eating foods your body is intolerant to can help, but there are some Essential Oils that may aid in digestion as well.
Ginger Essential Oil is a spicy, warm anti-inflammatory that can help ease pain and calm upset tummies. Spearmint Oil is incredible for reducing bloat.
It can calm nausea and reduce inflammation. Tangerine Essential Oil is a balancing oil that can maintain the flow of beneficial digestive juices.
These three oils together can create a soothing massage blend to help improve digestion and hopefully get you back on track to losing weight.
Place all the essential oil drops into a bottle and put the top on. Gently roll the bottle in your hands to mix all your ingredients. Massage the essential oil onto your stomach as needed to help with bloat and digestion.
Final Thoughts On Using Essential Oils For Weight Loss
Whether your weight loss goals have been hindered by a lack of energy, poor digestion, too much bloating, or even a lack of discipline when it comes to your cravings – essential oils might be the solution.
And now that you know which ones we recommend and how you can incorporate them into your existing weight loss regimen, all you need to do is get to shopping and fit these into everything you’re already doing!
To really get the most bang for your buck with these oils, it’s more important than you may realize to go with the very best products. Anything less than 100% therapeutic grade contains fillers, which are just taking up space and decreasing the concentration of your oils – aka their effectiveness.

Whether you live in a part of the country that gets snow in the wintertime, or you do not get to experience those little frozen flakes, it still seems like the snow is synonymous with the holidays. There is a crisp, cool scent that wafts through the air after freshly fallen snow. It is magical and mysterious. Recreate that time and place in your own home with this blend.
Once you have come in from the snow, you might be looking to cuddle up in front of a warm fire. Essential Oils can produce that feeling of warmth for you, the same way those amber flames do. Deep, spicy scents like Clove and Cinnamon help to heat up your heart and soul.
Woody oils like Cedarwood and Cypress are grounding and calming. As a bonus, these oils are great for supporting a healthy respiratory system. Mixing them all together creates a blend that is sure to comfort you and induce feelings reminiscent of sitting by a cozy fire with your family and a hot cup of cocoa.
Mmmm! The smell of freshly baked cookies is definitely a favorite for most people, especially during the holidays. It is warm and sweet and a little spicy. It is incredibly welcoming, and a great smell to have in your home when company is on its way.
We don’t always have the opportunity to bake up a fresh batch of cookies, but we certainly can recreate the scent with a few fragrant Essential Oils. Maybe you will be so inspired, that you just might bake up a batch anyway.
Did you know that essential oils date back to biblical times and beyond? These precious oils are mentioned over 180 times in the Bible! In fact, the three wise men actually brought gifts of Frankincense and Myrrh to baby Jesus.
These referenced oils are very useful to help enhance feelings of spirituality. Frankincense is amazing for regulating breathing and helping you feel rooted. Myrrh Essential Oil is earthy and relaxing, but can also encourage spiritual awakening. Hyssop is often referred to as the “Holy Herb” and is beneficial when needing purification. All three of these biblical oils can create an uplifting Christmas blend that can help you feel more centered during the holidays.
The holidays are a beautiful time of year. It’s incredibly meaningful to give to others and spend time with family, but often it can be overwhelming. Between the shopping, cooking, traveling, and money spent, sometimes you just want to have a “silent night” at home.
