Rose Hydrosol and Winter

Winter skin can be a challenge. Not only are you lacking Vitamin D from the sun, but you are often battling the elements such as wind, cold, and even snow. These seasonal changes often add up to dry, dull or flaky wintertime skin. Luckily, REVIVE Rose Hydrosol is here to rescue you. Utilizing this gentle product can really help care for your skin and your soul during this more challenging time.

Rose Hydrosol

What is Rose Hydrosol?

That’s a great question! Rose Hydrosol, which is sometimes called Rose Water (even though they are not always the same thing), has been used for hundreds, maybe thousands of years. In fact, you probably remember seeing it on your grandmother’s vanity. This incredibly fragrant floral water is the by-product of the production of Rose Essential Oil. This means that it contains all the benefits of Rose oil, but without the high price and on a more subtle level.

When roses are distilled, the steam from the water flows through the plant matter and then comes back down through a condenser where it becomes a liquid. This liquid contains both the Rose Essential Oil and Rose Hydrosol. The Hydrosol portion is water based. This means that it is safe to use directly on the skin without a carrier oil. This water is very delicate and it is a great choice for every audience as it is safe for kids, pets, and the elderly.

How to Use Rose Hydrosol

Because this beautifully scented Hydrosol is made of water, we love it for direct skin applications. With the same pH level as balanced skin, it is a perfect option for any skin type. Additionally, Rose is known to be very beneficial for mature and dry skin, so it is an ideal for use as a facial toner. Simply spritz your face once you have washed and dried day or night, then apply moisturizer if desired. Furthermore, Rose Hydrosol is also a great swap for water in any natural skin care recipes when you are hoping for an extra boost of moisture (see below). Lastly, you can even add a bit of Hydrosol to your bath. Just put a teaspoon or two into your warm bath water for added hydration.

Did you know that Rose is known as the “Flower of Love?” This romantic scent helps to promote feelings of relaxation, increase libido, and boost overall mood, making it an outstanding natural perfume. Spray your hair and body as desired to improve your well-being and smell fantastic as well.

Rose Hydrosol also makes an enticing linen spray. Use a few pumps on your sheets at night to help set the mood for love.

How Rose Hydrosol Helps in Winter

As you can see, Rose Hydrosol can be a good friend during the cold, dark winter months because it is such a skin-loving product. Using this floral water on your skin everyday can really help to lock in moisture and discourage dry skin. Rose is also a great anti-inflammatory, so the Hydrosol can help to combat redness and provide relief for irritation. Make it a habit to apply daily after cleansing your skin to fight the ravage of the weather.

Feeling down due to the winter blues? Let Rose Hydrosol uplift your spirits with a single sniff. Anytime you need a boost, spritz on and around your body and inhale deeply to help turn your frown upside down.
