DIY Chai Lip Scrub

DIY Chai Lip Scrub

As the weather gets cooler and drier, our skin becomes dried out as well. Sometimes our lips begin to chap a bit and need a little extra TLC. Exfoliating regularly encourages growth of fresh skin cells. And when you add moisturizing ingredients to that exfoliator, you get soft and supple lips to boot. Here is an easy DIY Lip Scrub recipe that smells amazing and works really well.

About the Ingredients:

Brown Sugar is used as the exfoliator. It is a small jagged but gentle crystal that can slough off dead skin cells. Alternatively you could use Coconut Sugar or Caster Sugar. Honey is full of antioxidants, tastes good, and soothes dry skin. Fractionated Coconut Oil is great for locking in moisture without creating breakouts. The Chai Essential Oil blend (pick your favorite here) adds a spicy, warm scent and flavor.

How to Make:

In a small bowl, mix together all of the drops of the Essential Oils with the Fractionated Coconut Oil. In a separate bowl, combine the honey with the brown sugar. Mix in the oil blend to the sugar blend and stir well. Place the mixture in a container with a lid and close tightly.

How to Use:

Over a sink, scoop out a small amount of the scrub and massage onto lips in little circles. Use warm water to wash away completely. Apply a lip balm to soothe if desired. Use as needed.
