Self Care DIYs

Self care is not a luxury, it’s a necessity; especially in a world that asks us to give more and do more. As the saying goes, “you can’t pour from an empty cup,” taking time to nurture yourself isn’t selfish. You need to restore your energy and well-being to show up for others and your own responsibilities. The beauty of self care DIYs is that they invite you to slow down, get creative, and craft simple rituals that soothe the body and mind. Whether you are in need of rejuvenation, stress relief, or just little self love, we got you covered with these recipe ideas.

RELAX! Bath Fizzies:

1 ½ C Baking Soda
¾ C Citric Acid
½ C Epsom Salts
Witch Hazel in a Spray Bottle
Silicone Mold
How to Make it:
Combine the baking soda, citric acid and epsom salts, ensuring there are no clumps. Add in the Essential Oils and stir well. Now, start spritzing the mixture slowly with the witch hazel while stirring as it begins to get moisturized and starts to come together. Using your hands, look for a wet sand consistency and when it begins to hold shape. Pack the molds with the mixture and press down evenly and smoothly. Allow to dry overnight. The next day, gently pop them out of the molds and transfer to an airtight container.
How to Use it:
Fill your bathtub with warm water and get in. Drop your bath fizzy into the tub, watch it bubble, and enjoy the relaxing scent.
 Aromatherapy Rice Bag:
Cotton Fabric of your Choice
6 Cups Uncooked Rice
Sewing Machine or Needle and Thread
Sewing Pins
Optional: Dried Mint Leaves
How to Make it:
Cut your material to size, we are going to do 12” x 8” so it is large enough to be used on different parts of the body. Fold the material in half long ways, so that it is 12” x 4” and pin the long end where it comes together and one of the short ends. Sew the pinned edges, remove the pins, and turn the fabric inside out so the seam is inside now. In a bowl, stir together the rice, Essential Oil, and mint leaves (if using). Scoop the mixture into the bag filling it about ¾ full. Now tuck in the top 1” of the open pieces of fabric into the center, pin together, and sew it up.
How to Use it:
To Warm (great for cramps, muscle aches, or when you are feeling chilly)
Put the pack in the microwave for 15 second intervals until it gets to the desired heat. Place on your abdomen, back, shoulders, or wherever you need relief.
To Cool (great for headaches, fevers, or when you feel overheated)
Put your bag into the freezer for at least one hour. Place on your forehead or back of the neck as needed.
Over time the scent of the Essential Oil inside will fade. Simply add a few more drops directly to the fabric to refresh.
Rejuvenate Body Oil:
4 oz Glass Bottle with pump of dropper
How to Make it:
Add the drops of Essential Oil into the bottle, then carefully pour in the carrier oils. Close the lid and gently swirl the bottle to mix.
How to Use it:
After a shower or bath, apply the oil generously to your body. Take a few deep breaths and let the aroma revitalize your mind. This oil will also help to regenerate and nourish skin.
