DIY Shoe Deodorizer

Stinky shoes happen to the best of us, but you don’t have to live with the embarrassing odor! Freshen your footwear naturally with this easy DIY. Made with all natural ingredients and germ killing Essential Oils, this blend neutralizes unwanted odors (without toxins), and leaves a light, fresh scent. Because it is gentle and effective, this do it yourself project is perfect for any style of shoe. And as a bonus, this can be used on helmets to boot.

What You Need:

2.5 oz High Proof Clear Alcohol
2.5 oz Distilled Water
1 tsp Baking Soda

Why Use These Ingredients?

The Essential Oils used in this blend are antifungal, antibacterial, and naturally deodorizing.
Baking Soda neutralizes odor and absorbs moisture that causes bacteria.
The alcohol helps the Essential Oils and water mix, as well as preserve the spray longer.

How To Make It:

In a glass measuring cup, pour in 2 oz alcohol, then mix in the baking soda. It will fizz, but continue stirring until it is dissolved. Now mix in the Essential Oils and add 2 oz Water. Stir well until completely combined. Using a funnel or a spout, carefully pour the mixture into the bottle and screw the top on.

How To Use It:

Shake gently to help the baking soda disperse again and thoroughly spray the inside of the stinky shoes (or helmet). Allow to dry overnight.
Use as often as needed to eliminate shoe odor naturally.
This product has a shelf life of about 1-2 months. Keep your spray in the fridge to make it last longer. If the sprayer gets clogged, just remove from the bottle and run under hot water.
